After 1 wipe:Lol
After 1 wipe:Lol
Well of course echo is not needed, but it seems a bit counterproductive to me to leave with 30% stat increase only to come back with 0%.
There's a lot of first timers and it often only takes a few tries for them to get it right. Sometimes I just have to explain the mechanics after the first wipe for the next try to go smoothly.
Its k lol they will struggle during the purge of bads in good gear in 3.0
A lot of players got sooooooo used to over gearing / echo that their mechanics handling became sloppy/ idc lol
The struggle will be real once the i130 gear fall off. They'll be like WHY IS THIS SO HARD GG vote abandon & blame others.
They'll probs be more difficult / complex than Ak/ pharos pre nerf.
New content with no echo, no video guides, dungeon/ crafted gear. Oh boy its gonna be a blast qeuing in progress as a healer.
People leaving after two tries is like being behind the first person in a line to buy tickets that's been sold out. You leave and try your luck else where. I've been guilty of this as I have joined "farm parties" and we wipe in the 2nd or even first phase. At this point I decide if:
a) ppl in the party clearly don't have a clue and were carried
b) bonus tomes and/or a combination of a)
c) someone is clearly trolling i.e doing nothing, standing in aoe, etc
I leave. I also feel a lot of this "give up" attitude can be attributed to the horrendous RNG in this game. In combination with the "I want now" attitude of today's gamers its a lethal combination and as a result you got people dropping out faster than community college. Luckily they fixed it with the token system in HW so there's at least a long term goal if you get nothing in the short term but this still won't solve the fact that I still, since 2.3, don't have my HA tank chest.

I think most gamer's who play mmo's (especially ones with subs) are 21+ meaning they have jobs and lives outside the games so time management becomes a factor. If you like wiping and not progressing in the few hours you have to play a day then good for you but most people who play a game play it to progress and become better in it. Just stating facts.
Declaring people incompetent does indeed indicate an elitist attitude. It does not however, indicate that you're wrong. It does indicate that you're probably not very fun to play with. Still, not incorrect.
I figure that your time is every bit as valuable as mine. Precious, the most valuable thing there is. After one wipe you decide it isn't worth it, np. Helping a group of people accomplish something they never have before is worth wiping, that's cool too. Sometimes I stay, sometimes I go, sometimes people leave me, I don't judge them, hopefully they do not judge me. When you start thinking that people should spend their spare time the way you expect them to, you might be a......nope You ARE a....
Sometimes one wipe is all it takes to make clear that this particular party won't be able to clear the fight. If you hit enrage with Odin and wipe with 20% of his health still left despite zero DPS deaths, that group can't win. Period. There's no point in continuing to waste your time on something that isn't going to happen.
Gotta call a spade a spade. Some people don't find it fun to carry those who are creating problems for the rest of the party by under-performing or failing to complete certain mechanics. I may have a lot more time to play than a lot of people but I still won't tolerate having to wipe over and over with someone who isn't able to learn or putting forth an effort to do so.
