Combined Trials

I really love the primals fight. It's like a short 15-minutes bursts of adrenaline, especially parts where it's hard to know whats going with all the flashing things and the aoes and you're new to it. Until of course, you learn the phases and habit takes over.

In extend of making Savage mode of coils and Extreme mode for trials, I would like to suggest a combination of Primals fight in one Trial.

For example, Ifrit and Titan in one large arena against the 8 of us. Of course, there will be new mechanics and things like a combined skill of both of the primals. Something like that, anyways.

It's a suggestion, but its a way to make old content fit into a new situation, and not recycle old situation for new contents.

"Hey guys... you keep being killed by these adventurers types?"
"yeah...."
"Why don't we.... team up... and smack them together?"
"..."
"And bring the other bros and sis too. Eight of us against the eight of them."
"....Why didn't we think of this BEFORE???"

Of course, it's just an exaggeration.

Sounds like something fun for an alliance based trial. Each party tanks different Primals, tank swaps between parties and mechanics that interact with each other between groups. Either way, a smaller scale 8 man party would still be cool. Ultima is a great combination of Primal abilities, but it doesn't quite capture the scale of fighting multiple hulking Primals at once.

I would love it if the most iconic Final Fantasy summons get continued story and content because of how much they're ingrained in the DNA of Final Fantasy. I'd hate to think that their entire contribution to FFXIV will be contained in ARR, so this idea gets my vote. It does sound like it would make for some amazing fights.

As interesting as this would be, I think there would be massive lag issues related to how much crap would be on screen at once. It could be possible if it was done in rotation though where the primals decide to work together and rotate in and out against you. Just gotta wait until we get Knights of the Round and have each of the knights represented by a different primal or something.
