It would have been really cool had they introduced choco raising right at the start when chocos first come into the game. You could raise one right at the beginning and it would be with you all through your 'life' in the game.

I was really hoping SE would do this, after loving choco raising in XI, really disappointed now.

Um this is a basic chocobo system. Just the start of a much larger and more complex system. You weren't able to breed chocobos when you could first get them in 11 either, that came later.

They have to implement the Missing Genders Patch 1st. ;>P

I for one am very excited, I also hear that we can get gear and equip our chocobo's as well. Don't know if this will be in with 1.19 but that is also exciting. Gear for looks and for also helping take damage, and fight. Should be good times all around. Can't wait.

They planning this for 1.20

I realize that there are bigger fish to fry, but having this in the game makes me very happy.

There will be multiple chocobo colors eventually, you can rest assured. Like Felis said, the breeding system will come later. They're implementing the system in steps so we can get important functions in stages instead of having to wait a long time to get them all at once.

I'm glad I was right and chocobos will be NPC partners instead of simply being jousting mounts
