In light of all the recent PLD threads...

post some thing's you actually enjoy and like about the class. We need more happy pally threads lol.

For me, always loved the sword and board classes and I think PLD really suits that mantra in this game.

Also think they really look like a PLD should in games.

Really like their defensive utility...

Also A sword named Excalibur? Zantetsuken? Awwww yis.

I like that they their shields are an integral part of their character design. Makes them feel to me like holy knights instead of just shiny golden fighters like in other games.

The simplicity does have some charm to it in it being a 'raw' tank, I like the aesthetic and it has some cool skills and animations and has some concepts slightly present in it's design that I like, what holds it back is these things not being expanded upon. Shield swipe for example, I think it would be cool if we had more shield prock skills so we could kind of have a counter-attack rotation. The stance swapping could of added something cool but warrior seems to be going in that direction instead, magic focus is taken by dark knight, more support skills like cover are nice (there is one in HW but at present I can't imagine it being used anymore often than cover.)

Two instances I can remember. One, out and about in North Than came across a little person doing what I think was an alex map. Was on his last sliver of health. I was able to throw a few cures his way until he defeated it. Thanked me a bunch for the assist. Two, doing Titan HM with 2 new healers to the instance. After numerous wipes we kept telling them that we will win. Almost out of time both healers down all but one DPS, me and the other PLD tank. Titan was almost dead, the OT slaps cover on me and he goes hallowed. Cover runs out I wait till I'm almost dead all while switched back to Sword Oath go hallowed on myself and we kill him in the nick of time. Two great moments I was glad to be a part of.

Paladin's utility abilities are cool when they work, which is rarely. Pacify, Blind, Shield Bash, Cover, and Tempered Will are all really cool, but their usefulness is way too limited in real content.

Blind is just and extra effect from using flash, use flash all the time. Shield Bash I use all the time also. Tempered Will for those annoying serve no purpose "heavy" moments when you're trying to get somewhere fast. Cover, for those " oh s" moments for the sake of the other party members. Shield swipe is my only underused ability. People say PLD is boring because of the 1-2-3 combo, but does anyone actually use the rest of the abilities? Seems no. There's a lot more to PLD than 1-2-3, they just don't use it.
