Let's face it. Riding a Horse in any game is great.

I'm more curious as to why people call them ponies and not horses... or donkeys.

Because they are very bright colours and they sparkle as well as being magically created by Primals from the base of a sacrificed Nightmare.
^ Not really the definition of a Horse. The PvP Mounts however are usually refereed to as 'Steeds' or 'PvP Horse'


I hope they get wings once they are changed to flying mounts personally. I'd do a quest for that.

Donkey:


Short, stubby legged, grey, white face marking, have a "tail-stub" where the bone is covered by skin and fur as opposed to hair, dark shoulder stripe, round head.

Mule:


Similar to a horse in shape, big ears, usually have white donkey-nose marking, can't breed, tails like a horse as opposed to a donkey.

Horse:


Big, muscular, small ears.

Primal ponies are mules. .-.
