How would you feel about end-game gear only being useful for 3 months?

Question is in the topic. Please -STAY- on topic. Post how -YOU- would feel and nothing more

Put another way, just answer the following:
How would you feel about "end-game" gear being replaced every 3 months or so via new raid/s or other end-game activities?

And to mods: if you think this thread is going off topic please just delete the posts of those who did anything but answer the question rather than closing or deleting the thread.

    My Feelings:
I feel that if gear were to become outdated so quickly FFXIV would have to drastically increase the quality of end game content to become competitive. At the moment I strongly feel that FFXIV's raids, while great, can not compare to the raids of other games (due to lacking interactiveness, voice acting, and deeper stories). If end game content became based on the current quick-spawn HNM system and the current style of raids, I feel like people would only come back for a week after each patch, eventually find another game that involves them more and that they feel like they can "invest time" into, and leave FFXIV completely.

I heavily disapprove of MMOs that make your previous accomplishments mean nothing the very next update. This is why I both loved and hated FFXI.

    Loved:

Gear I earned from Sky, Sea or Salvage were top gear for numerous years.

    Hated:

Gear I earned from Sky, Sea or Salvage were top gear for numerous years, which means pretty much anything released were generally side grades or pieces for people who don't have said gear.

However, given how casual and easy people want this game to be, I can see this kind of system doing fine in the long run.

I don't like it either. Easy content with gear that will quickly be replaced doesn't feel rewarding
Hard content lasts longer, and you feel more rewarded if you earn something from it, especially if that something is going to last you a good long while.

Final Fantasy 11 End Game was perfect. Doing hard core insane missions filled with lore that took months to complete leading you to be able to reach end game involving Gods, Sky and Sea, HNMs, NMs as difficult as obtaining multi hit great katana in the CoP zone. Nyzule Isle, Dynamis, BCNM, KSNM, all of that was time consuming and well worth it. The gear took long to get but felt so good when achieved and people wanted you in groups and guilds because of your well earned power. Better gear = faster merits, xp, BIGGER EPEEN, easier encounters with End Game monsters to furhter obtain more gear.

When things are hard to get, it makes us want it even more and go the extra mile to achieve it. Involving adventure, memories, invested time worth while, new friends, tactics, strategies, that feeling you get when obtaining it and every time you use it or show it off.

When things are easy to get, everyone will have it. Clones of you will be everywhere, there is nothing to look forward to, the game becomes dull and boring, epeen won't exist ; ; You will never feel unique, investing time into an MMO when things are just handed to you is a complete waste of time IMO... it makes no sense.

Nyzule Isle, Dynamis, BCNM, KSNM, Using event milestones to unlock areas is alright. all of that was time consuming and well worth it. Not because it was time consuming. The gear took long to get but felt so good when achieved and people wanted you in groups and guilds because of your well earned power. Never once witnessed this even indirectly or even heard about it on a forum in the 7 years I played XI. Better gear = faster merits, xp, BIGGER EPEEN I would love for that to be deflated. Especially when it's used in all caps no less. At first when I saw the post I thought it was a joke post because these words stood out so much. I'm still not sure if it is or not..., easier encounters with End Game monsters to furhter obtain more gear.

When things are hard to get, it makes us want it even more and go the extra mile to achieve it. Involving adventure, memories, invested time worth while Whoa there! That's very subjective., new friends New?, tactics Agreed, strategies Agreed, that feeling you get when obtaining it and every time you use it or show it off Dies eventually regardless if no one has it or not..

When things are easy to get, everyone will have it. Clones of you will be everywhere, there is nothing to look forward to Not new content involving, and I quote, "tactics, strategies"?, the game becomes dull and boring, epeen won't exist This is bad how?; ; You will never feel unique There are other ways to be unique., investing time into an MMO when things are just handed to you is a complete waste of time IMO Agreed.... it makes no sense. Depends on age group, theme, goal, but in the case of XIV I'd agree. Things shouldn't be handed to you. You should have to seek them out.
    Ullikummi ....
Fighting bots for claim for a chance to fight what you're really trying to fight

    18-24 hour fights ....
Destroying your games reputation in the media

Waiting for an entire weekend to get a ToD that happened at 3AM in your timezone on a workday and being 5th or 6th in line to claim the drop in your LS.....

    Priceless

EDIT: Updated to include the rest of the changed quoted text.

they turned ullikummi into a pop drop item, problem fixed just like any of the problems you mention can be fixed.

18-24hr fights? i not sure what that intels to but take for instance warhammers largest dungeon, lost vale, if know what doing it can take 2-3hrs but in reality most can't get it done in 6hours. people gotta go in and out of it during a weeks time to finish it and usually they don't. as for long pop timers then yeah we don't need it... this game already fixed that by adding fast pop times, though even now it's not really fast enough for fog repops and stuff. they should make drops less but keep us there not bored or afk for TOD's, if anything while one ls is killing it, the mobs around zone could have low drop items that higher the chance of drops on the NM itself. just fix the issues ...yeah, don't use a games mistakes to try toss out the whole thing. that is what yoshi did to everything in this game already.

that game was priceless and one of a kind, SE making ffxiv what it is after having ffxi is like your best friend screwing your gf while your at work. you expect other dudes to try and nail her when u not looking but come on now...
ffxi might of used the final fantasy name to help create it's name, but ffxi is what did it for ffxiv.
