Dev should set a complete new team specific for expansion?

I don't feel the current team can even made half of the requests available within this year.

I mean game making is something that happen with a snap of a fingers.

I personally don't mind paying for an expansion sometime in September as long there is two team working on addition stuff.

especially if they can show it as well.

Since the game is so broken according to most players, i think they will definitely delay the expansions (which can also mean Level caps since new areas must exist to level beyond 50+ ?) For example, zilart of FFXI is mainly for leveling beyond 60+ (also helped with 20-40)

I think if we want level cap increase, we need expansions, and our current agenda is disrupting their time to make it.

If FFXI is any indicator, they already have a year's worth of content ready in the pipeline and on top of that they're working on extra stuff for the future.

In addition to this they're likely working on more things that will be added without any regard to the current content planning.

Obviously, this is just speculation, but it's enough for me to rest easy.

I think if they add the expansion by June, this will end most of the worry of everyone. Now considering that many players are requesting ridiculous systems (like jumping), something like that will need the whole game world to be adjust properly to avoid exploit.

I think expansion is more important then anything else because it adds contents and remove level caps.

Look at Zilart as an example, or even Chain of promethia and toau (definitely TOAU is the biggest change to FFXI) (FFXI itself doesn;t change much in the fact that expansion are the one that change it the most)

what FFXIV need is an expansion with new land, new monsters, new city and break the cap.

before ffxiv was released, the old director tanaka, stated that he had a years worth of content ready to be implemented. granted the poor state that the game is in, their priority is fixing and balancing the foundations of the game. once thats done, they can release content already done and also focus their attention on more content. and i do believe that they are using ffxi's time table too. RoTZ was released almost a year after ffxi came out and during that first year, they went through a lot of changes and bug fixing just like ffxiv is going through now. only difference is that they are asking for everyones input (JP, NA, EU players). SE isn't asking what content should be added, but rather what type of foundations would u like to explore that content with.

I am not expecting an expansion at least for another year / year and a half because of the reshuffle. When Yoshi took over and changed the direction of the game it probably negated almost all of the prior content that was planned and possible already in development.

Yoshi might be taking us in a more bright direction but you almost cannot even consider this game being 5 1/2 months old now.. it is more like 1 1/2. So I think the dev change is going to slow things way down in terms of getting large content updates and a possible expansion type event. Although I hope they are working on something because if they release the ps3 version without a expansion the chances of fail are extremely high even if they fix everything just because of the negative stigma the current version of the game has.

Release it with the amount of content FFXI has with RotZ and no one can complain about a lack of things to do.

Well not if jumping is implemented in a way that doesnt lend to exploits ( 3D Zelda style or FFIV-IX & XIII style jumping).
