The fight with Yunalesca in FFX is a good example of using zombie as strategy. For those who didn't fight her (Didn't play or make it that far) in a later stage she starts zombifying your party, but she also has a move that instnnt kills anyone not zombied, and healing hurts you while zombied. IT was careful manageing of who was zombied at any given time to avoid a wipe and dieing from other damage.You know, in several FF games, you could purposely Mini, Kappa(Imp), Pig, and just play the game that way.
Having such "debuff"'s in the game would be something people could do for their own sillyness. Chicken, Imp and Mini are in the game.
There's also things like Vampire and Zombie which are debuffs that make you unkillable albeit hard to control/keep-"alive", since it reverses or ignores the healing buff. So there are strategies that could involve those, but they're not likely to be purposeful things players use.
