Because you didn't hear only your own rank up fanfare, but from all the other players in the area too

This leads to: do you remember when keyboard chat shortcuts were introduced but CTRL+R selected the last person we talked to and not the one a /tell was received from?

Do you remember when you had to face a monster to start casting a spell against it?

Do you remember when a levequest difficulty could not be adjusted after starting it?

Do you remember when chat logs opacity could not be modified and we only had 1 chat window?

Everybody has mentioned such good ones already!

My favorites that people have already thought of:
- When we had to repair underwear and it would only go to 75%.
- When we had the yellow or red gear damage icon on the screen almost all the time and couldn't figure out what item need repairs.
- Having to add every ingredient to the list, every single time when crafting. ><

Plus:
- Did you ever sell shards to an NPC for 8 gil a piece because you didn't know what they were for and were totally broke? (but maybe that was just me)
- When crystals and shards were not made from fish?
- When Iron Baghnakhs, many a pugilist's dream weapon, cost an arm and a leg? I broke the piggy bank and paid 1 million gil for Iron Baghnakhs shortly after the recipe was first discovered. ^^;

And a couple of small, more recent ones:
- When standing up from a sitting position would cause your character to do this weird bounce thing?
- When you could buff someone who was crafting, get them to look at you, and kid them to "Please concentrate on your crafting!"

Remember when you had to choose how many items you wanted to put into recipe box instead of it automatically putting one in when you click on it?

Remember when getting 200-300 SP per synthesis was GOOD.
