    using Twitch

    I was wondering if anyone at all, on here, uses Twitch. I'm hoping to experiment live streaming sometime soon, with just gameplay - with just live video of myself and voice muted, I currently don't have a camera equipped, but I have had thoughts about getting one. On the ps4 console, I've seen live streams of the gameplay, with neither voice or live image of the player.

    But anyway, I hope anyone is willing to see the male gamer behind the female character on this game.

    lol way to encourage somebody wanting to get into streaming >.>. He should be able to do what he wants without you telling him people will ignore his channel. The main goal isn't to focus on viewers anyway, if someone drops by, drop them a hello!. Have a go at streaming, don't worry about viewers, do what you're comfortable with and what you find fun and enjoy yourself .

    I would read this over a few times though, just to cover yourself.

    I was considering doing the same, but somethings just bother me about this. Music is part of the charm and personality of the streamer and channel, not being able to provide an extra bit of entertainment kinda killed it for me.

    Unless I'm just derping hard, and misinterpreting it.

    It isn't uncommon for many twitch streamers to have non-FF music playing in the background while they stream ff14 due to a !songrequest feature, so I think you would be ok in that department. Now if you uploaded ff14 footage without using the original music to YouTube or other places, then I think you would have a problem.

    Sorry you feel like I was being mean, I was kinda confused on what the OP wanted to do so I covered all my bases. also being truthful about the no video/no music. Maybe get a mic atleast and chat with viewers its always a better time being able to communicate with people.

    ...anyway, I'm planning sometime between 7-9pm GMT weeknights, late afternoon/evening at weekends.

    I'd prefer the music and sound intact, because I like the music in particular and I don't want my voice ruining whats on there.

    You don't need a camera to do a live broadcast on Twitch (and if anyone tells you otherwise, you tell them to go suck an elf). There are plenty of broadcasters on Twitch who do not use a cam, for one reason or another, and they do just fine. You don't need a super heavy PC, or even dual-cast (using two PCs to broadcast, one is your "broadcasting rig" & the other is your "gaming rig"), though don't expect to be able to broadcast at 1080p/60 fps (the majority of Twitch viewers can't even watch a stream at that rate anyway). Not that you'll be able to broadcast at that setting anyway if you're not partnered. I do recommend to at least get a cheap mic until you can afford a better one. Just be yourself and keep talking, even if you have zero viewers (or they're all lurkers).

    Do note that should you play music that you don't have permission to play, your VOD will be muted for the duration of the song(s). (This includes if you're playing MLB 15 and you play the music available in the game. Your VOD will be muted.) And if you decide to play non-in game music, I recommend Popskyy, FamilyJules7x & Danny Baranowsky. Danny has explicitly stated that anyone playing his music on their broadcasts shouldn't have their VODs muted, but it won't hurt to ask all three for permission before-hand.

    I stream FFXIV via my ps4 quite often (static coil runs, dungeon runs etc) with absolutely no voice or camera with it. It's just purely game, and I have done quite well, sure I'm not in the hundreds of subs and thousands of views but it's a pretty comfortable number for a small private streaming type thing
