Technically many antipersonnel rounds are designed to be blunt - they expand and or disintegrate to shred and pulverize tissue, and transfer maximum momentum to the target - "stopping power".

Antiarmor rounds are designed for piercing and penetration. Whether or not monsters like dragons count as trying to penetrate armor or not is up to you.

They are fundamentally different from a stabbity type weapon like a dagger or rapier.

They are also fundamentally different from a crushing weapon like a mace or a maul.
