    I can't speak for others, but I'm sorry that your question thread had to evolve into an argument/debate. /soothe

    The best advice I can offer is to just keep your eyes open and be aware of your surroundings. Some newer healers may panic if an ADD jumps on them before you see it/get to it, instead of bringing it to you, etc - so just being aware of surroundings to either intercept that or just being aware that the healer is getting smacked around (really, I somewhat feel melee DPS should OT and grab the monster off the healer and bring to the tank, in some instances - but maybe that's just me... just wearing more defensive gear/skills and all. I usually do when I go on MNK/DRG/BRD and toss some defensive CDs/Bind when I pull hate off the healer).
    I've had plenty of instances where tanks seem kind of oblivious - even while I'm practically standing on top of them with stuff chewing on me. :\ Absolute worst for that is in the chaos of the CT series of raids... healers being eaten alive while tanks are busy fighting over MT. x.x

    Other advice I have is to try playing a healer a little - you'll pick up on things you see and experience and, having tanking experiences already, put two and two together.... by dealing with other tanks and seeing what they do that you like and don't like while you're healing (and then apply the experiences to your own tanking). Seeing from the perspective of the healer. You don't have to go full on 50 if thats not what you want to be doing/don't like it, but a few dungeons will sometimes help. It did for me, when I picked up GLD and later, WAR @_@ (I main WHM, so I tend to be over-protective... and try to be as helpful as possible to healers, when I jump on my WAR alt...)

    I'm pretty sure people mentioned those things already, but... x.x Thats my two sense ^^;

    Welcome to the healer forums... unfortunately.

    In game as well, you'll meet both good and bad/mean. When you do run into them... Try not to let the latter weigh on you too much. And thanks for taking up tanking when so many don't.

    Best advice I have is:

    If you pull a group and lose enmity on a mob or two, do your best to get them back. I've run into a few tanks who don't pay attention to this. The healer or DPS who pulled hate from you should bring it back to you, some won't, and they're really annoying for both the healer and tank (you probably ran into a similar problem before, I really hate when people run away with a mob when I'm tanking haha).

    Use your cooldowns wisely. You don't NEED to know the fights as others said ("watch a video first"... bah). Since you're a Paladin you have great damage mitigation skills, try to always keep at least one defensive cooldown available to use, especially if you end up popping most of them early on in a fight. Stagger them out. Even the not so great ones are very helpful to the healer, any mitigation helps immensely.

    And if you do know a fight pretty well, having cross class abilities like Stoneskin (lvl 34 CNJ) are immensely helpful. If you're main tanking say Titan HM, you can pop stoneskin on yourself before he hits you with mountain buster. Or if you're off tanking you can cast it on the main tank. It's a great skill to have (not necessary to get it, but recommended by healers :P it helps us a ton).
