What foul sorcery has been cast on the denizens of Eorzea that years go by without anyone advancing in age? Nary a grey hair can be found on the head of an adventurer, and no crows' feet line the eyes to show the wisdom of their years.
In Yoshida's last post, he talks about equipment showing age over time (just through degradation, but still) which got me thinking, what about characters showing age over time? Basically, what I'm thinking is at character creation you can select to have your character age in real time, or leave it as a perfect unchanging model of youth.
Now, since we're coming up on the 1 year anniversary for some people (1 week!), I thought it would be interesting if there was a mark of age to show people that have been in Eorzea for 1 year, perhaps a single strand of grey hair, or something similar. For every year in Eorzea, an adventurer will accumulate 1-2 grey hairs, or perhaps crows' feet or laugh lines or anything that marks the passage of time. This way, as the years go on, we can tell the oldest and wisest (presumably) of all the adventurer's in Eorzea by their heads full of grey hair (or lack thereof) and their flowing white beards (err...barring Mi'qote and other females) and perhaps even their posture (imagine a geriatric Roegadyn half-way stooped over, ha!)
What say you, you beautiful people?
