If they answered to the horns thread saying it's impossible because of memory limitations (not talking about ps3, but data traffic), would you accept the answer or would you make more noise to get things your way?
There you have your answer.

Even just leaving such a reply as that in my thread would've helped a little. Don't have to say what they are doing to combat RMT, just an acknowledgement and reassurance that it is an issue and they are going to step up their game would've sufficed.Greetings,
In the lead up to the release of Heavensward, it can seem like we're being silent or not following up on many of the topics you're bringing up here. However, we would like everyone to understand that we are listening and gathering all of the feedback you've been diligently submitting to us, whether or not we make it overtly known. The development team truly values everyone's feedback and suggestions.
That being said, your comments from this thread, and other related threads, have been relayed to the development team. They would like to use all of the comments they've been getting as reference for future development and adjustments.
We look forward to your continued suggestions and feedback to help combat RMT, and FINAL FANTASY XIV itself, even better!

Even without a personalized dev response, I feel pretty confident that SE is aware that rmt exist and are trying to do stuff. Also, devs release their ban waves, which is the most updated information they really have to share. So they are keeping us posted, just not in your thread and not the way you'd prefer.
When in doubt, assume sarcasm
Yeah, I didn't even know about that dev reply until I read this thread just now. It's not even about it being my thread in particular. You'd just think they'd post in the largest and most relevant RMT type thread, though they haven't posted in any of them at all. I truly hope all the voices in that thread have not gone unheard and something is done come HW.

I mean they post it as news on the lodestone, which gets way more traffic than any thread about anything :/ What would they post in the rmt threads? Just links to the news they already posted elsewhere? Seems kinda redundant.
Edit: Just googled "ffxiv rmt" for science. 2 of the top 3 results take you to the lodestone announcements. The other one is a wiki. If you are looking for an up to date dev response on rmt they're actually extremely easy to find.
Edit2: The "Largest and most relevant RMT type thread" is still infinitely less relevant than the dev tracker posts, since that's sort of where they do dev responses by default. If dev responses are what you're looking for, they want you to look their first, not dig through 100+ pages of player opinions to try and find the 1 dev post, which may just end up being "Sorry still working on it, will update later"

Just so we're clear: Do you mean the purges? Those are all very well, but they're treating the symptom, not the disease.
Have they had any news posted on the Lodestone which takes a pro-active step against RMT? I've only been playing for 2 months, so if there have been some, I probably wasn't around.

They aren't ever going to talk about any proactive steps against RMT because then RMT would know what is coming and the minute they found out and try to figure ways to bypass it. Why give RMT an advance notice? They are working behind the scenes, just like security people in a store. They can't actually take action until someone tries to steal a product or do something illegal.Just so we're clear: Do you mean the purges? Just because you can't see them, that doesn't mean they aren't there watching you through their surveillance cameras ;P
Are you talking about their weekly bans? I don't count those weekly messages. It's the same cut and paste every week and seems to do nothing in the grand scheme of the game. RMTs still run rampant.

I mean... it's what they're doing. It's the only info they have. What do you want them to say? "We're still doing today what we did yesterday"? Should they post it once, or every day? So like I said, you thinking they're not doing enough is a totally different topic that I'd rather not get into, but to say they're not keeping you up to date is just incorrect.
Edit: Wow I say "I mean" way too much

The Dev tracker is there for everyone to observe. So are the notices every few weeks about how many Bans/suspensions are dolled out for RMT. What exactly would you have them say in your thread that would be useful to you and not end up helping prepare the RMT for whats to come? One thing off the top of my head that I can see really helping with RMT is the requirements to get in to the Heavensward areas (where all the big ticket popular items will be that can be gathered and sold on the market for loads of gil.) I'm pretty sure by now SE might have a vague idea that there is an RMT problem. They have the RMT screwing up their game and they are also getting inudated with complaints from the players. They are getting the worst of all ends of this deal, If you think you are annoyed by the RMT spam, compound that by every player who comments about it, everyones problem is their problem.Yeah, I didn't even know about that dev reply until I read this thread just now.
