That's not the reason why this wouldn't happen.

They've said it ages ago, they don't want to over complicate the game for the audience they're trying to attract. I believe that's also why BLMs skill aren't named all fancy and, instead.. just got called Fire, Fire II, etc.

well actually they got fire 2 instead of fira etc cause they thought the names would confuse people that are new to the series
