    Not sure I agree that people like boring stats, but there seems to be a fair amount of support for the existing stats just because it's what we already have. I think it's more because some people don't want change as much as they claim.

    I've always advocated more interesting stats on gear for as long as ARR has been going. Going back, even 1.0 had unique and interesting stats on their relic weapons. Gae Bolg, for example, had bonus damage to Jump skills. Why they removed it seems a mystery to me, and I don't buy the whole 'we're too stupid to understand complex stats' argument. I think they removed it simply because it was easier for them to make.

    Ingame equipment definitely misses some additional bonuses, not only relics.

    Unfortunately the stats in this game is extremly boring. I bet even players new to mmos agree when they get up to higher levels and realise that new weapons only make you deal bigger numbers and nothing else.

    I stopped caring about stats a long time ago and only got the gear I liked to glamour.
    An mmo should have interesting stats for end game items imo. And this is the biggest flaw with this game in my opinion (okay the slow paced combat is probably the worst)

    As much as I would love to have varying abilities granted based on your race, sex, deity, weapon and armorset, I fear that that will never come to pass for the sake of keeping the game simple.

    All these comments here...saying they're trying to keep it simple. You know i am really starting to feel this game is for 12 year olds that are half retarded(at least thats how they make me feel). They nerf EVERYTHING, there is no unique weapons or stats. Dungeons are a race to the finish line, no blood?, some guy gets cut in half and an arm gets cut off..no blood. WE AREN'T STUPID SE, you can take the training wheels off now!.

    Right, because no one who ever picked up a FF game in the last twenty years could possibly have understood that Firaga is different than Fire because it's area of effect. It made WAYYYY more sense to use numbers because fire I is single target, and Fire II is AoE, and then wow Fire III is back to single target. That's soooo much easier than Fire I and II being single and Firaga I being AoE.

    The localization team for this game is a joke, really.

    I still do believe the effects be done in a way that is simple, clean & straight to the point way. I do not agree with treating your player base as if they are kids as im sure the vast majority of us are not.

    But anyways back ontop how about giving armor effects? Lets make Elemental Resistances useful? And not just a pointless number. Give gear small amounts of bonus to elementals while at the same TIME making bosses deal HIGHER amount of elemental dmg?

    You can make it so each piece of gear gives a small amount to each type of elemental IF they feel it would be too complicated to make a full wind set and a full earth set. :P

    To be honest I thought elemental esistances were going to play in with the primal fights... =\

    I didn't understood the Fire/Fire II either...

    I mean, If you want to put numbers at least do it properly.

    Fire III should be Fire II, and Fire II should be Firaga.


    And, just to illustrate what people are saying about interesting stats for items :

    And so on...

    If almost every game (included WoW, since they seems to compare themselves to WoW a lot) can do it, why can't you ?
