    Do I really have to spell something so obvious? No its not a good idea cuz it would completely ruin the balance of the game. I seriously doubt SE is gonna do something like this until they find a way to do it without completely ruining the balance, something that is really really hard to do.

    Don't get me wrong, OP or gimmick weapons are fun as heck. The Kraken Club and weapons/equipments like it in FFXI were crazy fun but they ruined job balance, fight balance, PvP balance (yes there is PvP in that game), everything balance. And this is considering the way FFXI was designed, these imbalances weren't THAT much of a deal, but in a game in FFXIV? Just no.

    Oh right, games like WoW did have some weapons that minor effects but these effects were so minor that they might as well not be there. What WoW did do that did kinda address the issue of balance is that they made end-game content drop multiple equipments of the same ilv but with different and powerful effects. Even then though, you still had many cases of people using lower ilv equipments due to their effect and of super high-end weapons ruining game balance, like Shadowmourne.

    I'm asking for this kind of stats since...forever.

    Almost every MMORPG adds stats like that :

    Enhance X skill/traits
    Weapons procs
    Armor reactive procs
    Bonus set...

    I'm not even asking for FFXI kind of effect (Hidden effect, Latent effect etc...) but just something more fun than +3 VIT + 3 STR + 3 CRIT...

    I don't see why it would ruins balance really.
    Yes, items like Kraken Club was too OP. But I don't think peoples are asking for stuffs like that.

    People like it when it's just boring stats. Any MMO i have played has had sets of some form to get extra effects or enhance skills, but XIV right now feels so boring no set bonuses, no enhance skills etc.

    Not sure I agree that people like boring stats, but there seems to be a fair amount of support for the existing stats just because it's what we already have. I think it's more because some people don't want change as much as they claim.

    I've always advocated more interesting stats on gear for as long as ARR has been going. Going back, even 1.0 had unique and interesting stats on their relic weapons. Gae Bolg, for example, had bonus damage to Jump skills. Why they removed it seems a mystery to me, and I don't buy the whole 'we're too stupid to understand complex stats' argument. I think they removed it simply because it was easier for them to make.

    additional effects are tricky, because it turns options into must haves and even with the "limited" options we have atm we are still faced with BIS(Best in slot) mentality. Additional effects would just increase it further, so what if you are i130, you don't have additional effect flash grants DoT damage you are gimp or so you have a i130 weapon but it's not the i130 that increase potency of your ninjutsu so you are just gimping yourself.

    Basically it's just a trickery slope to add gear with additional effects because it just becomes another thing to balance. Maybe they will try it but honestly if they did I hope that maybe they just keep it tied to accessories since in all honestly, accessories are meant to be magically enhanced items that offer effects based on which you are wearing. So you could keep armor as is and just have accessories be a more diverse set of options that could have additional effects on them.

    To be honest the weapon effect dont need to be that strong.

    They can be extremely basic such as giving primal weapons bonus elemental damage. Oh you have a Ifrit weapon. Your auto attacks deal a bonus 70 dmg as fire dmg. Its not a very strong effect, but it gives the weapon a more unique feel and you can do this many ways besides just giving more dmg. How about a buff to one of our traits lets say.... Heavier shot having a 25% chance instead of a 20%. Sure its only 5% but its still nice nonetheless.

    I wouldn't mind something like this... a little something extra for your hard work getting those weapons.

    I think this game was intentionally made to be simple and plain. Almost like the anti FFXI. Everything is so equal that nothing is unique. Everything feels so artificial. All gear and weapons become glamour trash after a few month so all your efforts are for nothing in the end. It would be nice to have something special every now and then.

    Um, I don't see how that makes your efforts trash honestly. Now you're well geared for the next big fight, which is what this game is truly about. You know, the actual fight and not the gear required to take him down. Well, that and the lore behind it which makes it exciting in the first place. The gear is meant to be the icing on the cake IMHO. And of course the next gear set will be better than the last... why make it otherwise? The next set of gear wont be nearly as enticing otherwise and rather pointless with your logic.

    Also I very much enjoy collecting glamours, personally. *shrug*

    Yes, yes, yes. I want magic weapons to feal like magic. It's not an awesome relic if all its awesome power is +5 to all stats.
