So out of all the posts, one of you gave me the answer I needed. You are all justifying, in 2015, a game that can't make a key work through the Mogstation to bind to your account? A successful company like Square Enix? I know you lot think this is an actual MMO that is challenging as opposed to a mindless time waster with Final Fantasy references and I had always wondered why until now. Now you see why I don't use these forums and use the Steam ones instead. There's an actual community of gamers over there.

Hey Darkobra - if you are checking the real community on steam, then you must have seen the post Steam has had up on the FFXIV main page since Mid-March explaining that you need to buy the expansion from Steam. Right?

Also, this is not SE doing anything, it is Valve and Valve only. They have extremely restrictive licensing agreements. Valve knows they have a captive audience of customers and we all technically agree to this practice by accepting our end-user agreement when we sign up for Steam.
