So what's the economy like in other servers? Potentially transferring

Title says it all. For personal reasons I might be considering a server transfer, and I plan to make alts on servers that allow new characters. But certain servers that I know that would be recommended to me from a community standpoint (Balmung, Gilgamesh, Sargatanas, etc.) won't allow me to do that.

So how's making gil in other servers? I'm an NA player from the EST zone. I don't have to be filthy rich by any means. Don't really care about having a home. I do like what I've done in crafting so far so I'd probably like to focus on that once I'm caught up in HW's part of the story.

I do obviously want to transfer to a server with an awesome community, but I also want to make sure it's not pulling teeth to sustain myself money wise. I'm currently in Zalera which is usually either transferred vets from other servers (so high money) or fresh new players (low money). So prices on certain things like crafting mats fluctuate at a rapid pace. I'm curious about similar trends.

The economy is pretty good on Shiva. If you sell the right things then you can make good gil. It does of course have it's ups and downs depending on the time of day and the items in particular, but since I've started playing a few months ago, I've probably made about 4-5mil, and spent about 2-3mil on stuff from the market board. I have honestly never been at a point, (after getting my retainers obviously), where I was ever hurting for cash for anything, and pretty much all I've sold on the MB are low level crafts I used for leveling, (1-20 mostly), dungeon loot on rare occasion, and primarily fish I've caught when leveling my fisher up. And most of those fish I have caught, I tend to just desynthesis anyhow because I need the water shards more than I do the raw gil......

This is true but it's $18 or something like that per transfer. Community wise if I moved to a full server it would probably be Balmung or Sargatanas. But if things on a legacy server make it harder for a newer player like me to get themselves situated then it might potentially be better to move to another newer server or tough it out in Zalera to see if things change after expac. If I can get that information without spending the money for potentially two or more transfers then that helps a good deal.

The only thing about it is that you'll probably have to create your character in a non prime time to get on, (probably about 10-11 PM for you), as I think it is locked down during the heaviest traffic time of day, but with creation restrictions lifted during off hours. Since it's an EU server, most of the traffic is on at about 2-5 PM EST and slowly starts to die down a bit after that. I'm in central time myself though, so if you do create a character on there, let me know and send me a friend request, and I'll help out any if you need it.....

Coeurl has a decent economy depending on what you plan to sell. I made about 15 mil since 2.57 playing extremely casually until the expansion. Mostly being lazy and buying cheap and reselling once the price goes back up (TIV materia, MCD, etc.). Could easily have doubled that actually crafting things to sell (il110).

I would not recommend Shiva unless you speak German, the server is full of Germans and most of the PFs only accept German language. If you don't speak German and also plan to raid, you're better off somewhere else, I'm already close to transfering out, since it's so difficult for a non-German speaker to get a static worth my time.

Most of my money has been made through doing roulettes as a tank, so i have no idea how easy it is to make money on the market lol. I never got into that stuff. I've made over 10 mil (and spent most of it too) this way, and will most likely keep doing it.

I don't speak German, and while I do see people Shouting in German, that's easily less than half the people I see speaking in English on the server. In fact, out of all the people I actively play with, only a couple have German as their primary language, and they speak English quite well as well. Either you're getting on at a really bad time, or you're not paying a lot of attention. Granted, I don't do statics, so maybe it's just for that that the issue exists, but for normal gameplay I've never had issues.....
