I only want to say that 99% is an odd number...
90% would have made sense to me.

Just gonna quote myself from the other thread
Also, after these changes if you see someone asking for a repair you'll know he wants to sell it, so let' say you find someone that needs to repair a Crab Bow HQ and you happen to have one to sell, or the materials to craft one, or just the appropriate class and rank to do it, will you repair it?this is BS why don't you just get rid of the repair system if you have to ruin it this way??
And all the people complaining about "AAAAW getting stuff repaired is a pain in the ass, i'm obliged to grind AAAAALL of the crafting classes in order to repair my stuff and it sucks, and it costs money and I don't want to pay people to repair my stuff and i don't want to wait ages for a repair..." LOLWUT? have you played this game at all?? It takes FIVE MINUTES staying next to Gogorano to get all of your stuff repaired, is it that bad?? Are you so busy you can't spend 5 minutes in the same spot??
But the worst of all are those whining about how they don't like crafting, but have to do it in order to repair their stuff... well guess what, this is an MMO, you're playing with other people, you can ask someone else to do that for you.
Honestly this whole thing, not just the 1.20 part (worst idea EVER), is just dumb. Speaking for myself, I don't really care about the gil income when i repair stuff to strangers, usually i do it even when they put ridiculous reward, like 1k for a grade 5 thing, I just do it cause I know NPC is expensive and waiting too much for a repair is annoying, but once NPC will be cheap and will repair to 99% I won't take the hassle to look everyone's bazar to see if I can repair something and I bet I won't be the only one, so NOW if you don't know someone that has the proper DoH you'll be forced to grind it to resell your old gear (unless the "every class > every gear" thing happens... jeez what the hell did they smoke? >.>)
The point is that a repair system isn't a must have, ffxiv can go on and be successfull even without it, tho it can be helpfull, can serve as a good gil sink, a reasonable death penality and a good way to enhance players' interaction and crafters' role, but honestly after reading all these things i just see it as a pain in the ass.
Of course I would if I had the craft leveled. I'm not a complete jerk~.Also, after these changes if you see someone asking for a repair you'll know he wants to sell it, so let' say you find someone that needs to repair a Crab Bow HQ and you happen to have one to sell, or the materials to craft one, or just the appropriate class and rank to do it, will you repair it?
Yes. If the price is right. One thing is certain: Unless someone's a friend, altruistic repairs are dead and buried as of this announcement!will you repair it?
Have you read the whole thing? I said I use to repair everyone without even looking at the prices just because I know having stuff to repair is annoying.
There's a reasone why I made my example with Crab Bow HQ: right now I think it's one of the most flooded items on sale (last time I checked there were 70 of them at the market on my server) what I said is situational, obviousely I don't care if someone wants to sell a... Pine Crook, for instance. You can be as hypocrite as you want, but you know there will be situations where what I said is gonna happen.
Which myself and many others feel should change a bit.Basically it seems you want the repairs to be extremely convienent for your own personal benefit, reguardless of how it effects the DoH in that respect. I am okay with making it ALOT more convienent, but I think it should maintain the price of 75% max repair.
You may disagree with me on the idealogy, but think the codependancy on the DOH and the DOHs dependancy on the DOL, are core concepts of the game.
I +1 the 99%. Ill still need to interact with a crafted to repair it so I can sell that item again.
I've gone since open beta and never once used a crafted to repair, I don't think
Yeah I read the whole thing. I'm kinda ashamed. Everyone used to do free repairs. You're not special. But repairs are now a gil sink. You can't just put up a twig and be done with it. They're lowering the price though so it still possible to be altruistic if you are so inclined. But I'm not going to SPEND gil to make repairs to a total stranger. Why would I do that?
I don't care how many Crab Bow HQs are for sale. I'm not in the market to sell any.
PS: I had a Crab Bow +1... when I was done with it, I gave it away. Any crafter who thinks they can control the market by not doing repairs has issues.

Going from 75% - 99% will only mean ill be able to play an hour longer till id ho back to the repair nov anyway. It doesn't actually change dependancy
