Because you know, the e-celeb that is buying retweets with a free copy of ARR OR another game not related to FFXIV does not need another free laptop. if they streamed more FFXIV or at least had some youtube videos up of them playing the game i would not care, but lets make sure someone who deserves it get its.

it is true that this campaign is especially pointless to the average player, as the amount of fame an individual needs to be competitive is on par with how famous Soken's obsession with knee socks is.

Agreed, even MTQ deserves it more than the current leader. MTQ has done more for the community than they have, yet they are going to lose it to someone buying retweets

Current leader is a streamer on twitch who does not stream FFXIV, contribute to the community and is buying retweets by giving away a copy of FFXIV or ARK, which obviously does not help ffxiv

I am campaigning for either the current second place person running in it, who is a teacher, or MTQ. People who actually contribute in big ways.

The top 3 people in that contest do not even play the game, the person in 4th actually does.

I can think of way better contests
1. PvP tournament
2. Triple Triad Tournament vs real people
3. Actual in game chocobo racing

Maybe have the chocobo race involve the ACTUAL chocobo race feature in gold saucer...instead of using the wild wild web where any old person (in this case some e-celeb that doesn't even play) could just sign up for the members site just to get the email to sign up. (ghost account only created for receiving emails for Final Fantasy related things)

It's sad that people actually take money or even free games for tweeting for someone who doesn't even play. (I wonder what would happen if they took out that $1700 laptop prize from the reward, would the top 3 people even be there?)

Though I wonder if they could also be using tweet bots (if that even exists).

I saw this chocobo racing thing on Twitter and promptly went "NOPE"

The minimum requirement for this should have been that they even have a racing Chocobo in the game, much less a paying account.
