how can i improve my ps4?

whenever I'm in a zone thats very active like md or during a s rank i start to slow down/ lag its not my internet speed i really think it has to do with my ps4 system. is their something i can do to improve my ps4 i have not changed the hard drive its the same one that came with the ps4

that only ever happened to me when played on ps3.. when upgraded to ps4 i never lag in crowded areas like hunt fights etc

Anywhere there are large amounts of people it will slow the game down. Not much you can do with the PS4 to improve it. You can turn off effects from other people, sometimes helps with the hunts, but thats really about it.

Nope. It is the same for everybody. It's area congestion. There are probably 100-200 people at least doing S ranks, it causes heavy area load for everybody. I remember seeing an S rank in north shroud that had like 500 or more people and the whole server 90k'ed.

Are you using the standard/default PS4 HDD? If so you can upgrade it to a Solid Sate as far as I know, their giant flash memory hard drives so 4x faster access speed XD
I did it to my PS3 a year and odd ago and the difference is amazing so I can only imagine what a SSD does in a PS4

What milmoko said :3 get a solid state drive, it tends to cut a couple seconds off your loading time and when out of FFXIV it makes a lot of other games (like say GTAV) much faster since thats loading off the drive rather then awaiting information from a server,
the only other way is to go onto a server with the lowest PING to you, the lower your ping the faster your loading times would be.

The hard drive will not fix the issue you stated, its only for load times. Between the standard hard drive and an ssd for the PS4, probably won't even notice a difference.

Solid State drives can be purchased most places that sell PC accessories and video cards and such. They are expensive. They do improve the speed at which the PS4 loads and there is a simple tutorial on Youtube that will walk you through the process of installation of both the hardware and the PS4 operating system.
