You can get one no questions asked if it's within 14 days from purchase and has been played for less than 2hrs. However, they'll still consider it even if it doesn't meet the previous stated questions. OP might as well try; it worked for my friend with Civ5.

Good to know. I would definetly try to make use of that if I had the game on steam and I'd make sure to cite all these stupid restrictions as reasons why it should be refunded. Seems to me like SE should never have put the game on steam if they were going to restrict it like this.

2. Buy ARR Standalone (you can find it for like $10)
3. Register ARR on mog station
4. Preorder Heavensward PC version
5. Start playing game now instead of 2 weeks from now.
6. Play heavensward in early access.

You should take a look from where you ordered the Bundle Pack and see if it clearly states that the bundle is exempt from early access. If it says that, you were warned and you just failed to read the fine print. Work around - someone has made the suggestions.

How'd you even get your product key already? The product you bought isnt out until the 23rd, retailers cant (or shouldnt) be giving them out yet, hence you cant play yet.

As someone already said above, buy ARR, buy the expansion, play ARR now and even early access if you get far enough in the story. You even save $10 if you find it cheap. Worst case, you pay the same.

There is a slight issue if he does manage to get a refund on XIV through steam for a game he's been playing a while. Depending if it shows up as a charge back on SE's end they may perma ban his SE account. If totally starting over and not caring then that doesn't matter.

Dude. No matter the context, if there's a big notification on the screen during the payment process, read it. It's to avoid this exact situation. If you ignore stuff like that on other sites it can get you in way more trouble ("Sign up for recurring subscription?" "Make one time donation to the Chinese mafia?" "Get spam for the rest of your life?" etc.).

While I may agree that the op should have read the notification better, I don't agree that SE should have done this at all. What is the point? There is no reason to go out of your way to prevent early access for some paying customers that have gone out of their way to preorder your game. Some, like myself, just want another platform. I am still getting the pc expansion as well so that I can play on my laptop. Others are going to have to wait til launch even though the game will already be playable on the other platform.
