    Dungeon distribution in Heavensward

    A question has been bugging me all they, so I figured I will share it with the community.
    After the first three dungeons that are basically there as a tutorial, new dungeons come up at a predictable interval of 3-4 levels ending with a 3 level gap between Aurum Vale and Castrum Meridianum.
    Now in Heavensward we will have 8 new dungeons. It is reasonable to assume that the ammount of xp gain for a dungeon done at the minuimum level will be rougly the same as now. Meaning, you will probably need to do the same ammount of dungeons for a level you do now.
    But how often will we get a new dungeon? Doing a dungeons at every 3 levels is not possible as we only get 10 more levels.
    One way to do it is to give one dungeon every two levels, starting at level 52 and end the storyline with a series of 3 dungeons (much like in 2.0 but with a 3 dungeons instaead of 1 trial and 2 dungeons), but I am not convinced that the MSQ will have us run around doing fetch quests for two level before giving us our first new dungeon.
    Of course there can be any number of trials we don't know about (at least two). But there were levels when we got dungeons AND trials. (Ifrit and Halatali, Garuda and Dzemael Darkhold).

    Halatali and Dzemael were optional dungeons, not story dungeons. That said, I expect 3 of the new dungeons to be expert roulette. That leaves us with 5 dungeons for 10 levels. Of those 5, who knows how many will be optional, and how many will be part of the main story? I just hope there are dungeons that are part of further Grand Company progression.

    Actually a good chunk of dungeons were optional. Cutter's Cry and Qarn for example. Yes, you had to visit Qarn, but much much later when you were already capped. Aurum Vale is also optional.

    However you raise another important question. How will the duty finder look? Will the current main scenario roulette, high level roulette AND expert roulette all move to low level roulette? Or will we get an ARR cap roulette? Maybe even a coil roulette?

    At the start of Heavensward we get 8 new dungeons at all.

    That includes the story finale, like Castrum in ARR and 2 or 3 Lvl 60 Dungeons to gather tomes.

    So for leveling there will be 3 to 4 dungeons.

    Actually, they already announced that there will be 4 compulsory dungeons (for the MSQ) and 4 optional dungeons in HS.

    as for the "optional" dungeons in ARR, they're not so optional during leveling as they are required for GC's promotions usually (or for Qarn, MSQ). The only "true" optional dungeons were most of the lv50 dungeons, save the Keeper of the Lake and Snowcloak (tied to the MSQ)
