Returning player what US server should I choose

Hello everyone. I quit around Christmas 2013 after maxing all my crafts and also managed to clear some PVE content. I'm looking to go back with the expansion but starting all over as I'll be playing with a friend who's new to the game.

Considering that I really enjoy crafting/gathering and also some casual PVE, do you guys recommend me any US server and a Free company in particular?

I'd like to join a medium/high populated server.

Just join Balmung, it's where everyone crams in to. Not really sure why they bother having more than one server per region honestly. May take you a while to fond a time to add a character though.

I like Balmung. Active in both US and EU timezones. Raiding if you want to get into that. Booming economy. FCs of all sorts. Player run events. The works.

Generally, to get in, I recommend very early morning (4-6 AM-ish) between Monday and Thursday. Do not trust the website list for what servers are open as it only updates every 4 hours (in game server list updates by the minute).
