    HUD/Keybind Problem - Character no longer functions

    Time: 6/3/2015 - I believe it was in the morning, North America EST

    Steps:
    1. I used the HUD Layout editor to change the size and location of Hotbars 1-3 and the Duty List. Upon exiting the editor the Hotbars were a jumbled mess, the Main Menu buttons had disappeared and the Keybinds no longer functioned (e.g., w does not move the character forward, i does not display the inventory). Instead, pressing keys always types the letter under Say as though I was trying to communicate with someone.
    2. I went back into the HUD Layout editor and pressed Default All and Save to restore the original layout. The HUD Layout editor appears to show original settings, but the actual results remain a jumbled mess which no longer matches the layout in the HUD Layout editor and the Keybinds remain non functional.

    QUESTIONS FOR COMMUNITY
    1. My character has been unusable for a week now as I'm learning how to work with SE support (my first bug). My subscription expires today. Will SE work to resolve this issue if I wait to renew my subscription until the game is playable once again or must I re-subscribe in order for SE support to address this problem? I don't mean that question to sound like a snide remark directed towards SE. I think this is a fantastic game and I want to continue playing. I'd just like to understand how the process works.
    2. How long does it typically take for a problem like this to be resolved?

    Just to be sure, after resetting to default did you save the settings? Think it gives a notice that it saved...forget.

    One thing you could try is to go into your local character folder and rename the file(s) for the HUD or element you want to reset. If they have proper exception handling in place it should either load default mappings or generate a new default file for the missing config file(s).

    Oh yeah...another thing: make sure you are launching with Admin Rights by either right-clicking the shortcut and running as admin or setting the option permanently in the advanced properties page of the shortcut.
