Going from naked, broken weaponed Paladin to +5 WD/8MD translated to a 1:1 conversion in aa, ability or healing potency.
Doing the same on a class with mainstat < 202 resulted in a 0.X : 1 WD/MD conversion
Doing the same on a class with mainstat > 202 resulted in a 1.X : 1 WD/MB conversion

Sure you could now say that some multiplication magic between baseSTR, baseDET and WD is going on to result in a 1:1 conversion for Paladin, or you could say that DET does nothing at it's base value, STR at the global basevalue (which equals DET base value) is a 1.0 multiplier, and lower/higher basevalues adjust that 1.0 accordingly.
