For those complaining about them not speaking English at a game convention, you don't seem to know what E3 is. E3 is a trade show only open to industry professionals and the media, not the general public.

The 3.0 patch notes will take a long time to read out anyway. With English translation it will double that length. Its the reason the last live letter went over 3 hours. Its not like we wont be able to read them ourselves.
As for why at E3? Because that's where they will be and Heavensward will be launching pretty much the moment E3 ends. Its not like they have another window to do it in where there would be any point to it at all.
Why are people fixated on this? I thought people would be far more interested in the Live Letter instead where they will actually be showing off new ingame systems.
you know they are just reading them off the site so when they are reading them you can read along on the lodestone :3
Sometimes you just got to have Some fun
There is an expensive ticket you can buy that lets you get without being in the industry. If you want the free tickets though you have show that you work for a game or related company.
I can't believe he's gonna get on stage and read a big ass book anyway. Had no intention of watching this lol. I'll read them myself, like usual.
i don't get why people think they're going to be doing the reading on stage.
They're doing it from the hotel, because the convention floor is CLOSED during the time of the reading.
Also they've never done a patch note reading on stage.
Maybe the duty commence is going over it for NA but I do hope the notes will be out for all languages before either of these lives actually happen.
quoted from E3's website " E3 - Electronic Entertainment Expo. The annual video game conference and show at the Los Angeles Convention Centre. " Game conference = Game con, con can stand for conference (made by the professionals to inform professionals and fans) and convention (made by fans for fans or made to show fan appreciation) both tend to have the same meaning in this type of shows. it isn't a 'trade show' it is a conference to tell people what they are doing how they are doing it and they tell there biggest input the players :3 a trade show, tends to be more of This is what we HAVE and what we WANT :3

I don't get why people are confused about Yoshi reading the patch notes at all. He does this EVERY SINGLE PATCH. Unfortunately it's always JP only. It would sure be nice with patch notes this important if we could get an English version as well.
While I really don't care since we'll get rough translations at the same time and shortly thereafter (probably official translations within several hours if their last one is anything to go off of... 50/50 chance), it really does still merit a "SE, you crazy /slap" type of reaction. The sort of reaction you have when someone you know says something either really stupid/silly or just outright random and unfitting to the situation.
Patch notes, especially in this case, are dramatically more informative than any LL. Particularly as of late, LL's are only teasers of things... some of which are/were too far in the future to really care. Including things that may or may not end up being included anyway. Patch notes, on the other hand, are relatively set-in-stone content to be released (very shortly thereafter). Maybe it's just me but, most of the LL from the last 6 months or so have been rather lackluster. Some nice things mentioned in each, but they were all just basically entirely filled with (repeat) previews of HW... the sort of thing we see from any gaming news website. It would have been nice to see a couple LL thrown in answering questions about the state of current concerns and for the future, like a number of LL's were in the past. Maybe I'm just crazy to think that the Live Letters gained a lot of popularity due to addressing players as players, rather than press. The 3.0 patch notes will take a long time to read out anyway.
