Look, let's not all get our panties in a bunch, yeah?
Likelihood is the PRELIMINARY patch notes they'll be reading will already be available to us, or available immediately after.
Just go read them.
No, they don't. The English and Japanese broadcast on the 18th is displaying the new loot system.
"Good job on not reading the entire post", lol.

They did Japanese only live letters at previous E3s. This is nothing new really with regards to the complaints that they aren't speaking English at a NA convention.

When they announced that they would be doing this at the last Live Letter (which was translated) I really thought it was a huge undertaking no matter what language but I did assume they would have translation. Even the English translator lady for Yoshi said something to the effect of "oh my goodness the entire patch notes"....
I home someone like http://www.twitch.tv/cygneakrou will do the translation for this. Super bummed!

Yeah we understand the Yoshi doesn't speak English at all but what most are saying is true, doesn't make sense since it's E3 not Tokyo Game Show. Wouldn't it be better if they just show an English presentation and Yoshida does the reading in Japanese? I mean I'm sure Yoshi does understand English, then I wouldn't mind him speaking completely Japanese but being able to read the presentation in English.

Comes to an American Conventions as a Foreigner.
Don't got no English Translator...
Why even come?

They have a translator, they're just not going to be doing it for the life READING.
the letter to the producer is going to be live-translated, the patch notes will not. This is probably because it'll take forever to get through even without a translator.
To give you an idea, go back and find the 2.4 and 2.5 patch notes and read them out loud and time yourself. Then double that. Oh, and no fast reading allowed. You have to speak clearly for each one.
I'm all for reading the patch notes in japanese, provided they release the English translation at the same time so I can follow along....

What your asking is both understandable but also very unrealistic. Yes it is E3 and it is based in NA BUT we're talking about Square-Enix here and they serve, first and formost, the Japanese community. Having a translator reading the patch notes that are probably ridiculously long would be very unrealistic as it would take a couple hours with a translator.
I agree it's a bit ironic to be speaking Japanese in a (virtually) english convention.. but that's all I can agree to.
I'm just gonna read em myself at my own pace. Think of E3 as a rough copy of the patch notes.
