Didn't work for me, failed payment 2 days in a row, waiting for tomorrow now

Same issue here. Paypal with Visa card (Postepay) linked, enough money on the card and set as secondary payment option. I even tried to register the card itself on the SE Store but it tells me to renew Verified by Visa (did that yesterday) and won't let me use it. It's the same card used for my monthly fee as well. Hoping tomorrow works...

If you used paypal go to your profile and then on Authorized Payment (pagamenti autorizzati) find the square bill and click on it.

In the page that opens up go at the bottom and enter your postepay/credit card as alternative payment method.

Follow this suggestion and worked for me, no money on paypal account so added an alternative payment method to the order (postepay visa electron) and everything went fine
If you pay with paypal account be sure to have added to the order an alternative payment method or it will fail forever if your paypal account is empty.
