Disconnecting and the things that come with it

So I started playing at release and then stopped about one day later. I've been back about two weeks now and I have to say I really enjoy the game a lot more now.

However..

There are two things that really get to me about this game, and both of them are directly related to disconnecting.

First of all, when I get disconnected, be it via sudden hiccup of the router, a cord coming loose, or a group of moogles with nothing better to do than bother me while I'm playing, there seems to be this incredibly annoying and random period of time in which you cannot log back in because your character is still there. In XI when you were disconnected and tried to log back in, your character would be booted off, and you would be allowed back in without having to wait 5-20 minutes for the game to disconnect you itself. Now I can understand this being problematic under certain circumstances, such as being in battle and not wanting people to be able to simply poof on an enemy in order to avoid a loss. However, when I'm waiting on a behest to start and I get this random disconnect, only to be let back into the game after it has started and/or ended.. I'm not a very happy camper.

Speaking of Behest, which is the second issue of mine that ties into the first, it's pretty damn annoying to be disconnected during a behest, able to log back in before it finishes, yet unable to continue the event with your group because there is no way to get back into the behest once you've been disconnected. I've had this happen so many times that I want to grab the nearest living thing and choke it mercilessly, which does not bode well for my cat. Hopefully, there can be something done to keep people from being ousted from Behest because of this dumb occurence. If not, my pet is in danger.

LOL... i hate it specially while doing raids..... it not only mess with you , but with wholse party as you get booted outside dungeon as when you get back, at least make it so we can stay inside dungeon after DC and re-join party or wathever else.

Ahhh hahaha yeah ... these have been mentioned A LOT in the forums since release. As for the issue you have logging back in, usually, if you full blow kill the FFXIV .exe process, you can usually jump right back in. Usually being the key word here. I know it doesn't fix the issues with losing the chance to fix re-entering Behest or anything else similar to it but, at least you may not have to wait 5-10 minutes to get back in. Welcome back and just in time for the new patch coming SOON!

I've tried shutting down the game, restarting my computer, cursing at my neighbor, and even threatening to pour water on my motherboard, but none of it works. I play with a few friends that returned with me, using vent', and it always comes to that same conclusion - As soon as the character is kicked off of the game, you can log back in, no matter what methods we use.
