TL-DR version, SE is hiring 11 new employees for tghe FFXIV team, and just as a juicy addition, several of those positions list "experience in console development" as a preferred trait

I'm pretty sure Abriael meant the title ironically. Like obviously they aren't giving up on the game if they are still hiring staff for it. He's basically saying "haters suck it you aint got shit on SE". But it's kind of a facile conclusion nonetheless since companies generally have turnover and we all knew SE was still intent upon releasing PS3 edition at the very least anyway.

Oh I got the irony, I just find it really stupid to post it here, where half of us hope the game to succeed, and the other half are fn angry at SE while hoping the game to succeed.

Well everyone sees news differently. If I read that article I would be like: "Well it's good they are hiring more people..." and then the sceptical side of me would question whether or not they should have already done that 5 years ago, and then it makes me wonder if they have been labouring with an understaffed workforce this entire time, and then I contemplate the notion that these new employees might just be replacements for people that quit/moved on/died in earthquakes... and so at the end of the day I am forced to conclude that it could potentially be a bad thing, this news, and not actually good for SE's image.

Don't know why this "tidbit" of news deserved such a boastful thread.

The information could go either way depending on what the reality is behind the scenes, for which we shall never be privy to, I'm sure.
