This seems the discussion up pretty well. Its also the number 1 reason why overall a fantranslation is actually prefered to a offical, but localized translation.
I don't believe there was any alteration that added more sin (he has reason to dislike us in both versions), or removed the fact he has some sort of deal/respect/covenant with Hydaelyn. It was clear in the English version he was doing something because of her, for us - and strictly that because otherwise he'd probably turn us into KFC. We may, or have to, earn his respect much like Ramuh.

I do not prefer the fan-translation, I prefer the talk down - you're an ant I do this for someone much bigger than you and not the tell all interview. To each their own though.

Nael Van Darnus (not Nael Deus Darnus) being referred to as a man in the dialogue. Apparently the Japanese description for him on the lodestone referred to him as a man as well.
Yes, Nael was a male in 1.0
And while Bahamut recreated Naels body after the calamity, Bahamut had a joke moment. Or Bahamut didn't know the difference between male and female.

It just feels off for a FF game to use numbers for spells. Through my THM leveling process i was like "okay, haha but where's fira and firaga"
Have you never played a Final Fantasy game before 8 or something?
