This is all great info. Seems a little overwhelming since I am only lvl 28. I enjoy the game so I am not rushing anything. I do a good job at keeping up with my class quests, and story quests. The relic thing I haven't researched so I know nothing of it. By the sounds of it my story quest will make me do some 8 man dungeons, I'm just wondering how many people will be willing to do old 8 man content when the new exp is out?

There will be new people, people with new characters, and people who aren't getting the expansion. Plus SE has a pretty good track record for making sure that people have multiple incentives to go back to earlier content if other newer players are going to need them there. That first couple weeks after the expansion launches there may be a lack of people in some of the ARR content, while top-level existing players are only interested in the new stuff and newer players haven't reached the late ARR stuff, but I wouldn't anticipate it being much of an ongoing problem. If it is, SE will just add more incentives to the neglected areas until things even out.

And yet doing Syrcus Tower and getting some soldiery to get an i110 weapon is almost as easy for a much better weapon.

You still need a minimum ilvl to enter ST. It only takes about 2 hours from start to finish.

Sorry, but I don't agree with your advice at all in regard to telling new people to start their relic. That's going to be a huge waste of time considering we're getting a brand new relic quest in an upcoming patch.

Yeah but unless HW changes the "relic" weapon to another name.... let's call it a relic weapon.

When the new relic weapon questline appears, then maybe we can change ARR relic name to Zodiac weapon or something.
