Please Allow 50's to Enter Ishgard w/o having completed MSQ

I will say no.
I don't want all the new rmt bots profiting from the new gathering nodes.
The existing rmt will hopefully get banned and will have to start from zero.
This might discourage at least some RMT to keep going. I think it will improve our economy ingame.

I also have a couple of friends coming over to ffxiv and they would love to play the new classes but would rather work for it and enjoy the story.

Actually I have to play alts to manage my inventory. I want every kind of unique gear, so that I can change my outfit as I see fit.
SE keeps adding new gear but they don't add new inventory space, therefore I need to make new characters with other jobs my main don't play so I can have them all.

Also there are Miqote, lalafellin, hyur, elezen, rogadeuyn (I cant spell that one) and soon Au Ra, if the game was meant for one character only there would only be one race.

Mainly because I like having personalities for my characters. So because I am playing the RPG part of an mmoRPG I need to do the main quest and all the silly trials again and again, even if i've already done them and I find them rubbish and boring?
I find that silly. Everyone keeps saying it's a theme park mmo, but they are still gating new players and they need to do all the old stuff to get to the new stuff

Well again you're choosing to play multiple characters when you don't actually need to. Mules don't need to be leveled to be able to hold inventory so that argument is pointless. If you're a RP that wants to play multiple characters... well you kinda picked the wrong game unfortunately. This game is built on playing a single character. You can't really complain if you choose to play in a way that was not intended.

By the way content gating and themepark MMOs are not mutually exclusive. I really don't get why people keep spouting that one. Go play any themepark MMO out there and I guarantee you'll find content gating of some kind. You do not just go and kill the final boss of the story as soon as you reach the level cap, in any MMO.

If they were saying "Let us go to Coil without fighting anything" you'd be right, but this is more like "Let us go to Sea even though we haven't beaten Ultima/Omega Weapons." Which is a thing you could do, btw.

A more accurate analogy would be "Let us go to Tavnazian Safehold even though we haven't beaten all three Promyvions." Which is a thing you STILL cannot do, btw.

I'm a fan of it being part of the the growth of your character, as they have it set up. I like it a lot actually. I highly doubt there are very many new pmayers that would be turned off by this. Seems like a bit of a straw man argument to me.

Its a story your character is living wether you like it or not. Most of those who are complaing seem to have their own way of playing the game, which, by all means you are free to, withing the parameters of the main game. Dont ask them to change the entire story of the game just because you are the 1/1000 who "only crafts". Its seems such a ridiculous argument to me that I figure it has to be trolling.

Blame bots, I'd rather have to deal with players being forced to complete the main story to enter Ishgard rather than making it a free for all and giving RMT the ability to profit with little in their way.

Never even thought about this until you posted. Unless I'm missing something, this will definitely keep bots/RMTs out of the new areas. (For awhile at least).

Actually, let the newbies into Ishgard! That way they can see what fighting level 60 monsters is like before they can even learn their first ability! Or wonder why everything is still locked off to a level 1 player!

I see your point, and I understand how the game works. I just don't agree with it.
But I like the aesthetics of the game, the outfits and that's mainly why I'm still playing. Glamours are my end game.

I just think that gating everything isn't a good idea. You wanna dye your hair or get a new haircut? Need to do a quest, going to a normal hairdresser isnt an option for some reason
Wanna dye your clothes? Need to do a quest (I guess you need to learn how to do it, but there could be npc that would do it for you instead)
Wanna enter gold saucer? Need to do a quest (I didn't read this quest so I don't know the reason why you need to do a quest for it)
Wanna use glamour prisms? (Need to do a quest, and be level 50, I don't even wanna comment this one.)

And now, new expansion they could make it a new story so that players reaching level 50 could choose if they wanted to do the level 50 main quests or not.

I'm already done with the main quests on my three characters so it doesn't affect me, I just think it hurts new players when they have to do it all while all the other players are doing the new relevant content

i love the main story o.o main reason i was excited for 3.0 was to find out how many scions survived and hoping we rescue them at some point lol

imo when u buy a new game u buy it to play and experince everything not go.. i brought this to access ishgard areas who cares about the rest of the game.. its a new experience for them so very few will be complaining about not being able to access new areas or jobs
