Short answer. Yes. Let them start at lvl 1. New players don't give a flying f*k about the story sorry. They want to play the game. This game contrary to popular belief is not hard. Tedious yes. Hard no.So you would let start new players in Isghard, as a lvl 30, with no knowledge and knowing if they set one foot out of Isghard they get killed by a lvl 50+ mob?
Or would you want that everybody starts from lvl 1 again, and that all new zones have mobs from lvl 1 till 50+?
Even if they make the jobs available outside of Isghard, you would need to have a lvl 50, and yeah, why would Isghard even let you pass?
And no point in saying to let them start as an AST/DRK/MCH in one of the 3 city states, since there is no guild for them. (BTW, we never start as a job, we start with a class. AST/DRK/MCH = JOB)
So you wanna downgrade the zones, and have lvl 50 players with ilvl 120+ go in new zones with mobs lvl 1? Wow thats fun /sarcasm
And don't speak in general, it's not because you don't give a damn about the story, that other don't.
And as many said before, this is an FF game, so story is very important. Isghard is locked due the story/lore.
Not happy? Deal with it.

The new players will start in the old zones, but the new job guilds are in Isghard. Even if SE allowed you to start as an lvl 1 AST/DRK/MCH, where would you go since your guild is not in reach?

I saw you post that you wanted to play the new jobs and unwillingly did do the main story so you could get it yet your still complaining.
Well guess what you just proved that the main story won't be a problem and why is that?
Because you did it even though you didn't want to because you wanted to access the new content.
Which is what every one will do new and old player alike so thank you ( claps ) for showing it won't be a problem also people saying that the exp from 2.0 main story will be boosted and that new people get priority in duty finder will help the new players.
And to the people who only gather and craft and don't do any other stuff to the alts who just want an easier time. Too bad suck it up and do the work if you like this game then work for your rewards.

I would REALLY love to see your source for these claims.
They don't care about the story? This is an FF game! It's HIGHLY story-focused!
They want to play the game? They ARE playing the game by playing the story!
I am your source. I am a new player "less than 3 months" I didnt give a flying F about the story. I liked the artstyle and the characters. The story was tedious and just something i needed to get done in order to play the astro like i originally wanted to. I realize a lot of people play for the story I am not one of them. I play for +1 better gear and being the best at my class i can be. That's my motivation the story has zero to do with that.

You most likely chose the wrong game then. Though no idea why you are complaining, since you are already eligible for the new content.
And if you want to use pseudo-arguments based on your personal believes - I have played a TON of MMO games, I have left most of them because they had little to no story, and required mindless grind of mobs because the Quests gave next to no EXP.
You are one kind of player, I am your complete opposite, this game caters to "my kind" more than "your kind", you either deal with it, or pick another game.
Also the story is not THAT hard or tedious, and considering it WILL be the (by far) fastest way to level to 50(most likely 51-52) once the expansion hits, and considering that you can skip the VAST majority of dialogues and cut-scenes. I really see no reason to complain.
You want to play DRK/AST/MCH? Good for you, but you will have to take the same route everyone before you did.
It's this line of thinking that ruins games. I'm sorry but your view of how it should be is backward and the way they are releasing this content is asinine. Yes i finished the content which is why I know just how tedious it is to get to the point i'm at. And thank god I've been playing a healer because had i been playing dps? forget it. I'd probably still be trying to finish the story with 30min+ Q's IF you're lucky. New casual players are NOT going to want to do this and they shouldn't have to. I did it because I am far from a casual player and knew i had to do it in order to play the expansion. New players are coming into this blind are not going to be happy about it mark my words. Player retention is what square should be concerned with not "well they need to EARN it like it did" mentality. That's just an excuse for poor design. People are waaay too concerned about how other people play. You should be happy about your accomplishments because you did it yourself, you should not be happy about it because "new players should suffer too" that's a terrible way to think about this. It's pretty much the definition of elitism and elitism ruins games. Never cater to the 1%.

Well good luck clearing Dusk Vigil with level 50 players who haven't finished the original class quest lines yet(not job, class)It's this line of thinking that ruins games.
