Please fix the "temporarily limited" character creation nonsense!

I've been trying to make a character since Wednesday of last week on the Balmung server in the Aether data group.

I recently introduced the game to a friend, and over my shoulder, gave her a good glimpse of the server's community and how strong it appears to be. She was instantly drawn to it. So we bought her a copy of the game. She wanted us to make new characters together so we could create a story for our characters together, but neither of us have been able to make characters on Balmung since we got it for her. Even when I'm able to select it in the server lists, it's as if it closes down again between my clicking on it and my naming my character, because I always end up at that 3079 error.

I even found, via a member of a linkshell I'm in, a little website that supposedly notifies me when new character restrictions have supposedly been lifted. Except that, it seems that they never really are. I can never seem to get my character made.

This is a problem that needs to be addressed. Sooner rather than later. Because, especially with an expansion looming large on the not-very-distant horizon, people are going to be checking out the game again. And they'd better be for the long term health of the game. But as it stands, my friend who was so enthusiastic about this game at first, has quickly become disillusioned by this particular difficulty. And I'd be extremely wary of suggesting the game to other friends because it seems unlikely that they could easily come play the game with me.

Please, correct this.

It's not there because it's an error.

It's there to promote the other low-population servers. Like Zalera. Balmung, Gilgamesh, maybe Lich? They're all full of people and to avoid RMTs and spammers, the put up the restrictions based on how many logs are actives at the current time.

If you try to make a new char on Balmung, one of the most populated server, on peak time you're going to have a bad time. Try to do it when it's the odd hours of mornings, like 3 am or 4 am. Or right after a maintanence, when less people are active in the server.

Besides, other servers aren't so bad. Here in Zalera there's like a couple of dedicated statics, along with like in the 30s of hunt/chat/social linkshells and tons of fc. We have lots of people at peak time, you can see it in Mor Dhona. Sure, we're not as active as Balmung or Gilgamesh, but we Zalerans care about each other. Just... we're not that bright when it comes to Agrippa and his regen mechanic.

tl;dr The restrictions are there to balance the population on all servers and to avoid RMTs/spammers. If you want to make a char in Balmung, do so at 3 or 4 am or right after maintanence.
