Laptop Users - What laptop are you using to play FFXIV on

I'm considering buying a personal laptop for travel as we move around alot, but I want to be able to play FFXIV decently on it as well. I'm looking at something capable of playing the game in High Laptop Mode.
I guess I should also mention, I have an old 4-5 year old Alienware laptop that is capable of playing XIV on standard mode but it weighs 15-20 pounds and I'd like to keep the weight down if possible since it's for travel also :P

My budget is under $1000 if I decide to buy one. What laptop do you use that fits the bill?

Edit: Just weighed my old alienware. Damn thing weighs 16.2 pounds @_@;

I run a thinkpad with the upgraded graphics card. They no longer sell my model (about 4 years old now), but many laptops can run this game for under 1000, I like Lenvo customer support which helps as well. Try lenvo unless you want overpriced alienware (which does the job for a lot of extra $$$). Look around for sales and blogs their are plenty of laptops that can run the game fine, take your time and do your research it is a big purchase. Also are you using your laptop for other things?

Thx for your feedback. My budget is mildly flexible, Just trying to keep it under or near $1000

I was playing on an Asus g53sx for 1.0 and 2.0's Betas. I switched to the PS3 version when it was released and I have never looked back.

Mine one is Dexp c17b , i belive this one only can buy in Russia );(but label not really matter , what matter is specs) cost 500~$

Video : GeForce 840m

Operate : Currently on Win 10 ;D
Game runs totally awesome at nearly highest settings (Highes posible res , only few options put to medium like shadows . Awesome thing that this lap have GeForce optimizer , that optimized game settings itself to high standarts , i myself was unable to do that great .

So far all the models Ive compared on Newegg have the same processor and some version of an Nvidia Graphics card

Intel i7 4720HQ 2.6Ghz CPU
Nvidia GTX 900+

There are three that I've compared, all have pretty much the same specs (except memory amount) just different brand names/price.

Leaning towards the MSI if I buy one since Ive had good customer support from them in the past and I can knock some extra money off the cost but only lose 4GB in ram versus the ASUS

In general Nvidia cards are better because they rely more on hardware over software. Not that other cards are worse, it's just they use more emulation than Nvidia. I would go with the laptop that's the better deal. Asus tends to be that but there are exceptions.
