I read the thread about the card mini-game and I liked it a lot. I thought it could even introduce a new Class for crafting. I was thinking that those special equipments from NM or Raids look nice just because they have a decent design on top of the same 3d model. Like the shield with a sun drawing.
Maybe making a class that works as an "Artisan" who would put selected designs to equipment using the equipment and dyes to make the appearance more personalized. And at the same time this class could create cards with dyes, maybe canvas and a special item that represents the mob to create the card for. Like a Fat Dodo imprint, to create a Fat Dodo Card. One version of HQ could be more cards and another version of HQ would be a foiled status or +1 as. Card cannot be made without the proper imprint and the rarest cards could need rare drops from NMs plus a high level Artisan to create it. I am sure SE can find more things for the 'Artisan' class to do. Like (if they make mog houses alike-features) paintings, flags, decorated furniture.
I liked the fact that you can personalize your equipment by choosing the color of the fabric or the metal. This might not be a productive addition to the game play, but it sure will make it more appealing. The new materia idea seems to emphasize the fact that you can get attached to your equipment and personalize it to your needs. This will make it more yours, because it doesn't only has your custom extra stats, but only has your own chosen design and accent color for such design.
I liked most of the ideas on the previous post about the card games. And I liked the Tetra Master idea of leveling up cards, so it makes sense keeping the common cards in your playing deck, but also like the FFVIII rules that make it so even lower cards can win a game if played correctly. It doesn't have to be either of those game's rules, but copying the rules would make the dev team work less. As long as they keep a game that could be both simple and challenging (depending on the local rules of the game) and make periodical tournaments to get points to redeem for items.
The mini games will keep the advanced players interested in the main game.
Give us more reasons to come back and play.
