How long till you recognize my character deletion and free the name?

I'm wondering how long it will take for the system to recognize that I've deleted my Balmung character so that I may transfer a character of the same name into it?

It may be reserved permanently. That's how it was in XI...don't know exactly where they stand on the issue in XIV though.

Ok so now when I log into the Mog Station, it no longer lists my deleted character on the main Account Services page (this is an improvement to where it still listed the deleted character), HOWEVER:

When I go to 'Additional Services', and select the destination server for the transfer, THAT system still sees my old [deleted] character as active. I need that gone so that I may transfer my Hyperion character with her full and exact name please!

There's been some progress in this in that the deleted character no longer shows itself on the "Additional Services" page when I click on "Confirm" that my destination is Balmung . . . HOWEVER; when I select current server Hyperion and then click "Confirm", it is STILL telling me that transferring that character requires a name change. How? My deleted character is now deleted.

But it may still be available for restoration. That was the big WTF with XI--once used, a name was pretty much permanently locked...someone could file for their one-time-use recovery at any moment I guess was the reasoning behind it. Same thing may be in play here.

Any road... it is the weekend and support likely won't be responding any time soon.

It should be instant,i deleted a character a few months back and used its name on another.took like a minute.

That may be because you used it under the same GUID in the database (same account, same server, same Globally Unique ID)? OP is trying to transfer from another server, which may have a different primary key and so it is locking it out.

Just speculation...but they do things weird at SE. Always have.
