    Questing

    Hey all,

So to start I am very new, never played on FF online games. I am used to mmo styles like DC, WOW...etc.

I find with the questing I am doing the same guildleves over and over again. Then I can't do anymore until the next day. As well, noone else gives me quests. I have ran around a bit to try and find them.

Am I doing something wrong? Is there a way to get more action quests and lvl? Or do I do the 3-4 quests everyday then do a BUNCH of crafting ones?

*pls excuse the terrible spelling, I just realized that I was typing to fast and didn't spell check it......(Ya not a good typer here)

    What city are you in?

Guildleves have a 36 hour timer.

Yes, there are only 6-9 various leves in each level range, once you reach 5 they will change as you can do the level 10 camp at 5, level 20 camp at 15 etc....etc

You can currently do up to 8 of any combination of Battle and Gathering Guildleves, and seperately 8 Crafting Guildleves. I believe once you get to rank 25 and unlock the rank 30 leves they will offer more leves for you overall, 6 leves with 3 per camp. Until then, if you want to do more guildleves you will have to go to another city to get more, get lower level leves from the same city, or just wait out the guildleve timer. In the menu under Attributes there is a tab for Timers that will tell you how long it is until the leves reset, it's a global 36 hours like Coglin said.

Guildleves are getting revamped when the next patch hits, making them more flexible by giving us 4 slots every 12 hours and having those slots stack up to 99 over time, so you can do mass amount of leves whenever you have the time.

There are side quests you can do for XP that you should be able to find by talking to NPCs with ! bubbles over their heads. I think they're marked on the map so you can pick them out as you run by them. I'm not sure what level they become available but I think you should be able to find at least a few now.

As far as quests go, I don't think they want us to be fully leveling by quests. FFXI wasn't a quest based game where basically quest served as a function for fame or for certain items. SO for them to even offer exp/sp for quests I think is a big step for SE. While they will add more quests, I don't think we'll ever level up on quests past the earlier levels, the sp cost (soon to be exp) is so high for levels part 40 that no quest can give enough sp/exp to be comparable to leveling with levequests or grinding. Levequests are still better if you can link them with a group of 4 people (light party). Grinding is getting better.

So really, to put it to basic terms, guild leves are like dailies and other then that you just kill stuff and grind or do proffessions?

Story quests and class quests unlock at certain ranks. There is a table of when main story/class quests unlock in one of the old Ask the Devs.

You can also do Behests at the camps, where a NPC guides you out to kill certain mobs.

Current event of the month involves killing rats by Camp Horizon. This would be good for you...the mobs are right in your range.

There is the r25 dungeon called Toto-Rak that you can run and beat in a couple different ways and earn decent mid-game unique gear, but you'll need to be r25 and find 3 other people to go with.

There are many baby Notorious Monsters that could be tackled as a group, but you'll want to be r25-30 and have a pretty good size group to tackle them - or get help from higher ranked players.

You can help other people do their leves and you still get a small extra bonus.

Also - if you are only picking up the 3 leves for your rank at the r10 camp, then you can go to another city and get 3 more, and then the third city and get your final 2 (if you are trying to do all your leves at the same rank, and not use some for gathering). 8 Battle/Field leves total per 36 hour reset.

Every camp or node that offers battlecraft leves has a Behest available twice an hour. It's basically a free battlecraft leve, with comparable rewards. Sign-up is from :00 to :03 and from :30 to :33 every hour, and you and your group have 20 minutes to clear it (i.e. until :23 or :53). After defeat all of the mobs in the list, a slightly tougher 'boss' mob will appear. Upon defeating this mob, you will receive a nice SP reward, the Battlewarden NPC will come to where the 'boss' fell, and, if you speak to the NPC, you will receive a little gil and be offered teleportation back to camp. Currently you can only participate in one Behest each hour, so at best you alternate Behests. To see how long until you can next participate, check the Timers tab under Attributes.

Current standard procedure for a Behest is to group up. Everyone who signs up for the behest will get a scroll icon next to their name, only visible to others who have signed up. Before setting out, everyone typically joins together in a Party. Players often stay grouped after Behest to do leves together, as there is a bonus to SP for being in a party that increases with the number of players.

They are at all of the Camps and lots of the Aetherial Nodes too. They leave on the half hour. You'll see the NPC pop right at the half hour I think. He's called a Battlewarden. Then he'll allow people a minute or two to sign up and head out to kill things.

Typing /clock will show you how much time until the next round of Behest.
