I'm just kind of curious as to how many macros people use that you're all filing up so many hot bars? It must be a PC thing, because as a PS4 player I only really need two hotbars, (not counting my pet hotbar which is automatic), for all of my skills as well as a few items of convenience such as my mount, sprint, summon chocobo, ect. I do have a third hotbar that is shared amongst my classes that I rarely use, which has a few macros that save me a few seconds of typing in a simple text command, (/hud dlist to be specific on one of them), as well as the mark icons which I rarely need as I don't tank...

EDIT: Thought to be fair, upon looking at the "show your hud" thread, I do notice that PC hotbars only have 12 slots, whereas PS4 Crossbars have 16, so this may have something to do with it. All together this means that 4 hotbars for PC players is equal to 3 for PS4 players, (I'm not counting the Pet hotbar in either instance since it's not customizable). Still, with even just my two basic hotbars that I use, I don't see any problems with having space for new skills. I have four spaces that I can easily clear out without any worries, and a simple macro or two can clear out at least three more.....

So long as I don't have to use THIS many macros, I'm fine:

Hmm, well for the PC players who use keyboard and mouse, you know you have access to shift commands, though I use a G600, I also have on the keyboard, `, R, T, F, V, B, shift R, Shift V and not to mention Shift 1,2,3,4.
Also I have most of the g600 extra buttons on shift as well to double up the keybinds on there.

I still have plenty of keybinds remaining with how I have set up my configuration, people just need to adapt and start practising these sorta keybinds, no need to macro stuff.

Well I do have room right now that is being taken up by things such as some emotes and menu selections. Wouldn't be that hard to move those off. What will harder is rearranging actions for new rotations.

I'm looking forward to the challenge of redesigning my action bars. I get a lot of enjoyment out of tweaking my UI around to maximize my efficiency.

I prefer to combine Awareness with Foresight. That way it serves as a (weak) mini Rampart by itself. Though, I have to confess, Foresight never seems to make much difference to the damage I take. I hope they fix that someday.

I could probably macro a few things together, but I'd rather not to be honest. One of the good things about having them separately is I can time abilities between combo strikes to minimize delays. Macros are unfortunately rather slow for that purpose, and easily interrupted. Maybe I can shunt over a couple of items onto a 3rd or 4th bar...

We're getting 5 new skills per job. This is indicated by the fact we're getting a new job skill every 2 levels. With Ninja, that could be more if they decide to give us extra Mudras, but at least mudras still use the same number of primary skills overall.

Oh. Goes to show that I haven't paid THAT much attention recently, lol.

Heh, that's not as bad I figured it'd be though. 5 new skills should be relatively easy to fit in on my gamepad hotbars. Maybe.

Whenever people talk about the limits of hotbars, it usually stems from lack of keybindings.. (I'm excluding all you console players, you have your own problems to deal with)
With 10 hotbars at 12 slots each, that's 120 slots. You really won't need much more than that unless you want to have like 8 shared hotbars or something.

Mess with your bindings, get used to using shift, ctrl, alt modifiers and combination of the three. I find Ctrl + Shift works really well for cool down skills, it's hard to use by mistake and not too hard to reach with pinky and ring finger.

Also, drop 6 to = unless you have gigantic hands, and separate the latter half of the bar to using Shift, Ctrl, and Alt

It's really all about the keybindings if you're a PC player.. I have 4 of my bars bound and I find that to be more than sufficient.. In fact, I usually have a bar and a half empty because I don't have enough skills to fill them all.

Don't forget you can also keybind your immediate area around wasd keys (qwer asdf zxcv) as long as you use them with a modifier and that'll grant you an entire bar per modifier.

Really, the number of skills each class has is not overwhelming at all, it's actually on the lower end in numbers compared to many other games.

If you have extra buttons on your mouse, they help too but I use those mostly for mount, sprint, and teleports.. So I can navigate one handed.
