Downloaded PS4 EA file (1.7gb) have i done something wrong?

Just a quick one just to clarified. I purchased the CE for ps4 from the SE store. I got my email with the EA CODE. I used it last night on ps4 store. Downloaded the file that was 1.7gb (called add-on). Installed automatically. Once I launch the launcher of HW (THE one I downloaded) but it does nothing (launches the ARR launcher as normal). Is this normal? What's the next step or now you just have to wait until 19th to see something different and make it work?

Uuuuuh I think I saw something in the lodestone that says not to install it... And think the solution is you have to uninstall and reinstall XIV again >___>; I'm not sure if this is the same issue, but it sounds like it... Let me see if I can find the link. Will edit when I do.

No the issue has been solved. They took down the download for a few days and put it up again on Wednesday I think. The game works fine. My question is , am I meant to see something different when I start the HW launcher? Or just wait for the EA to see something different? Cause like I said it's been successfully downloaded and all but I'm concerned about the fact I see nothing new. That's all

Thanks just have to wait now for 19th now and see how it goes. Hopefully they gonna start shipping soon the CE for those who purchased the hard copy.

The download is most likely the Heavensward launcher. It won't work until the 19th and early access will only be available up until the 27th June I believe. You have from the 19th to the 27th to claim your pre-order items, provided you played before the 23rd June. You will then have to install the physical copy. If you bought digital then you do nothing.

It's now just a waiting game.

No, it's a pre-download.

Think about launch day. There will be hundreds of thousands of people downloading it and what will happen - slow downloads. Also it means it takes you longer to log on since you have to download the client.

This way when HW releases all you have to do is install it and then log straight one. It's pretty standard for these types of MMOs to pre-download major updates.
