    Expansion hiccups that needs to be avoided

    As Heavensward is just weeks away, I'd like to make a list of expansion no-no's that SE needs to avoid:

    1) No true-sight enemies (CoP). I don't care how much "excitement" it gives to some people, the concept is just ridiculous when exploration is already about to ramp up in difficulty.

    2) No magic-proof enemies (ToAU). Anyone who has been a Black Mage or Summoner at this time knows what I'm talking about.

    3) No unfinished jobs (ToAU). Machinist CANNOT afford to go down the same road as Puppetmaster.

    4) No level caps that requires different gear for different areas (CoP). This was addressed in 2.0, but I leave it here all the same.

    5) No non-targetable enemies (CoP, ToAU, WoG). Unless, of course, we're able to see them and prepare to fight them at a moment's notice.

    Any others you guys can think of?

    yea... this is ff14 not ff11... the onyl issues i can forsee are log in errors and to much lag or not able to complete quests due to instance server being full.

    They seem to be pretty good at avoiding those kind of mistakes. Every job will be able to participate equally, or at least that's what they seem to design towards. The only mobs in XIV that have had magic immunity or resistance come with physical counterparts, or swap between physical/magical. The Ravanna Level 54 sync, like every other sync, doesn't require you keep separate gear sets. Etc.

    Considering only 4 class get any form of invisibility and we're getting flight, I don't see this being an issue. There won't be any enemies that see invis in areas where gatherers need to go.

    This goes against their design philosophy to make enemies that are completely unkillable by one type of attack. Even the coils don't have enemies that are IMMUNE to physical or magical, just either resistant to it or have a stoneskin buff to one or the other that you can break. There was a couple in the first Coil, but they changed it.

    3) No unfinished jobs (ToAU). Machinist CANNOT afford to go down the same road as Puppetmaster.
    I...doubt this'll come to pass. Our devs are pretty thorough with class design though we won't know the true issues til Alexander savage puts people through the wringer.

    I think you're referring to things like the chigoes? Cuz there ARE untargetable enemies in this game already as part of encounters, such as t11's nodes that spawn during the add phase, t12's firebirds in the last phase, etc.
    Any others you guys can think of?
    hmmm, not off-hand. They've already quelled most of my fears.

    there will be job hiccups. with 3 new jobs and a whole lot of additions to the current 10 that's a lot to get perfect.

    There will be non-targetable enemies the parties are not intended to attack, but to dodge. Like the mummies in the Quarn (hard) final boss room.
