Chocobo Help Needed Please

I have leveled my chocobo all the way through level 9, fed her an onion and she went to level 10. now she is all the way through level 10 and I went to feed her another onion and it said unable to do at this time.

You probably have to wait a certain amount of time in between feedings, the same way as with changing your chocobo's coloring......

Take her out of the stable and kill something which sends her to 11, put her back in and give her the onion.

As i said above, fight something, she goes to next level and to open xp again, give the onion...

Onion feeding timer is on the same with krakka root, so if you fed krakka to cap then you would have to wait an hour to feed an onion, summoned or stabled.

When you say "exp capped" that sounds like your exp is big#/samebig#, which is a waste of an onion. You want to feed when exp is 0/big# and you gain no exp for kills.

Yes, while you can cap out exp with Krakka Roots and such, you cannot actually get him to level up.
Go out, kill something, he'll level up, and you can use your onion.

You really shouldn't have fed it an Onion at level 9... It would have leveled to 10 without the Thavnarion Onion.

Thavnarion Onions should only be used once your Chocobo has reached level 10 and they are used to break the level cap.
