I just don't understand why people are like.
Female eyecandy by showing off skin and elegance -> fine!
Male eyecandy by showing off skin and elegance -> WTH NOPE?! What are you thinking! *insert highly subjective 'argument' that is claimed to be the world formula here*
Feels like people can't accept that there are girls and men attracted by men playing the game, or what ever else reason is there too.
And all those comments about "How dare you to not be attracted by the average handsome considered manly men traits like you should be"!
It's just laughable. Like those guys sit there in RL all alone being like. But I am a normal, average handsome guy! You are SUPPOSED to love ME! :'(
Guess what? This is a fantasy game! Some people enjoy to be creative. To create something they enjoy that don't exists in RL for reasons. If we would be all forced to play only average 'handsome' characters how sad and boring would this be ?
wOuld totaLly ruin mY emarghersi0n!!!
edit: stupid post limit!

etc etc awesome stuff...
Can I hug you! I'm going to hug you! *HUG*
This is how I feel when I'm reading this thread as well sometimes, 'it's ok for my (or others) girl character to wear skimpy dresses that leave little to the imagination, or run around wearing a bikini in a primal fight while tanking - but RNGesus forbid someone wants their guy character to wear something that looks like a dress even though there are already skirts in the game that guys can wear - it would run my immersion!'
Anyway it's not like it's anything new for a man to wear a dress or skirt. Men have been wearing what is essentially a dress for thousands of years, they just had different names: The Toga for the Romans, in the Muromachi period in Japan but men and women wore brightly colored kimonos, the Greek called it a Chiton, The Scottish wear kilts, The Chinese wore what they called a hanfu, also the Egyptians and the Sarmatians...etc
Actually the first time Egyptians saw 'pants' with the Galli people, they thought that pants were effeminate and better suited for women to wear. In the 19th century mothers allowed their sons to grow out their hair and put them in dresses until a certain age and in the 1940's you could still find dresses for both boys and girls for when they were young. The only reason that men started wearing pants was because they were more practical when riding horses into war. XD Even today in other cultures we have the lamba, the sarong, the kanga, the lungi, the dhoti... etc.
But anyway, lol I rambled enough! You are awesome Heerz!!
The outfits that Kei has shown us from the start have been sexy and tasteful - and cover more than some outfits I see on girl characters. While SE will probably never let male characters have that specific dress - it still looks great on the elezen - and even on the Roe that Kei made. I fully support the idea behind this - which was to give males more diversity in clothing - and make a lot more clothes that are male exclusive, which SE said they will do.

Let me guess, the male version will probably be unisex right? *sighs*
PLEASE genderlock the male stuff...for the love of all that's friggin holy, if you cant make female stuff available to men, at LEAST make the male stuff unavailable to women.... *sigh* -.-
They totally can and have no reason to not too >.>, they just won't. Seriously we know SE is fine giving men feminine clothes, so we really need to keep hounding them til they do their job. Id hate for the "solution" of this issue would be having outfits segregated because SE's too lazy.
Actually, since those are time-sensitive event rewards, they will probably be either gender-locked or a one-item-two-styles deal like the Valentione gear.
Hopefully. "Fair" isn't exactly on their dirty minds when they adapt all the male gear models to female body shapes, though...
