"This is a thread with a lot of support, just ignore all the people who don't support it!"
Wowow I prefer my non-nipple covered but that bare chest jewels thing is just amazing!
In my opinion, the arguments to support the thread have a certain weight to them and bring forth strong arguments. In an official debate, one who is unbiased would be in favor of the good arguments and in this case, the support for this idea. The opposition to this thread can be summed up as: ''I don't want men to wear dresses because personally I don't like it.'' or ''I don't want more options for either comedic glamour or serious cross-dressing because it's not normal for me.'' Essentially, there are no good and unbiased arguments against it and that is why I believe the supporting side is stronger in this instance.
In another situation and another debate, an opposing side can have very strong arguments which could easily turn an idea down in an instant and I wouldn't mind but in this case, I believe the support win and will only probably lose because the devs are also biased and emotionally compromised like the many people against it.
When a debate reaches this point, I'm often reminded of story from Suikoden II. Victor describes that after his family were turned into zombies, he found them with nothing else better to do than to start eating each other. Let's not let this topic get to that point, please.
Seriously though, if you are against the idea of unisex gear, then good for you. However, you'll get no karma points from the developers by swooping down and shaking your cane at all of the players asking for change.
Personally, I have no interest in this set, in particular. Personally, I'm more interested in the female Oasis Tunic set. I'm curious if the detractors are as adamantly against making that set, and it's male exclusive exclusive counterpart, wearable by characters of both genders. None of the Oasis gear, male or female, really scream gender exclusive. They just currently are.
This here is hilarious. I know a few companies who tried to experiment with new things and had to reverse them because new experimentation causes an outcry of negativity.Secondly, just because other games have gender-locks, that doesn't mean this one can't break out of the crowd and experiment with new things. Game developers need to take certain risks with their games if they want their games to stand out from the rest and draw more people in.

If nobody in the gaming industry ever experimented with graphics and other 'new things', it would all be completely moot because we'd be playing MUDs or roguelikes. Hell, if you wanna go a step further, internet gaming as we know it probably wouldn't even exist. We'd be sitting around tables playing D&D or V:tM face to face with our friends instead. Risk and experimentation can lead to innovation as easily as it can to failure.
Well, it's not the gender-locking that is so annoying/infuriating/exasperating/your-choice-of-word. It's the fact that the gender-locking isn't equal. While there would be people complaining if we got as many male-only outfits as female-only, there would be far fewer. For example, where's the outcry that the swimsuits or yukata aren't unisex? There are a few people wishing they could wear the opposite outfit (especially with the yukata), but not nearly as many as those who are upset about the imbalance between gender-locked outfits.
So much truth, it hurts. Thank you sir!Well, it's not the gender-locking that is so annoying/infuriating/exasperating/your-choice-of-word. It's the fact that the gender-locking isn't equal.
