That person should be a man cause that hairstyle is male only. I think he's the old looking Elezen face but it's a draw so it's not completely alike the real thing. Though here a low quality reference
There's little skin exposed between the miniskirt and the knee-cloth and it look like identical to the female version that was shown here at 0:50 https://youtu.be/shLBIItJb1E

For the same reason their in-game gender does; it doesn't!

People should be able to wear what they like, especially considering we already have unisex items very similar to the gender-locked ones...The Flames allied seals DoM bottoms might actually be skimpier than this glamour skirt, especially when viewed from certain angles; it's a skirt over a thong with cutouts around the hip area to show off said thong! And the DoW bottom is a miniskirt-style kilt (just like Raubahn's!). There's no reason we shouldn't be able to wear this set, too.

If it's really, somehow, that much more difficult to alter an item from female to male than it is from male to female, well, that's SE's problem; they should have thought of that and started off with a male outfit in the first place.

They're excuse for all these glamour restrictions is so silly to be honest and this is just one of them. If they're gonna make male gear available to females then they should post pictures of females wearing them in the previews rather than make a post a few day later saying "lol, the male gear is also available for females" like this: http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/pr/blo...697.1424468065

I remember when the pictures of the new glamours were released many people knew that they'll later announce it'll be for females.

As many other's have said: if they can alter a gear to feminize a male gear then they can easily masculinize female gear

Unlike the Gambler's Set vs Bunny Suit when it was 1st announced, this is at least "equal" in terms of theme: Desert Dancer.

In the end, they're alienating consumers that choose to play as male, which consist of approximately of 50% of characters

So it is ok if SE bring out gear that allow female characters to run around topless wih no bra, like the males do?
Or matter suddenly the gender of the character in this case?

The only real issue I'd have with this is it would require them to raise the ESRB rating.

It would also have the added effect of completely defusing the, "RSE Smallclothes for Glamour!" movement. Why would anyone want to glamour the Female Highlander RSE smallclothes when you could run around topless.

I made this point earlier in this thread with the example of the Tidal Talisman, which is male only.

I would dearly love for more unique outfits for males, but as I've said before it works best when the outfits are designed for men. Simply copying female styles just doesn't compliment the male physique at all and would be so niche that it wouldn't justify the amount of effort put in. People seem to misunderstand the meaning of the term 'equality'. It doesn't mean that people should have the exact same thing all the time, it simply means that the scales are balanced for both genders.

To that end, SE need to redress the balance by adding some more unique styles specifically for men so that they have an equal number of outfits to we ladies.

The dev team has already chimed in on this. They already plan on making more male exclusive gear.

Not all male characters want this type of glamor, so 50% is not a truly accurate figure.

The truth is "equality" is just an excuse.. People really just want to run around as male cross-dressers plain and simple. Some because they think it's funny (i.e hildibrand etc) and some because it reflects their own personal lives. I for one am glad SE is somewhat sticking to their guns on this issue. Some may rejoice but the day SE falters and gives into letting male characters run around in all sorts of provocative female clothes will be the day I quit the game. Too many people are just doing their oh so best to blur the lines between everything and don't have a clue of what is good and right. This thread is a perfect example of a worldview that has no standard in which to look to and make decisions based on. Moral decay at it's finest.
