"Failed to join the party."

Hey all, so I keep getting this message lately when trying to join a few specific PF groups. It happens randomly, and is not result of either myself or the party leader having eachother blacklisted.

I'm able to join other parties, and my friends tried and were able to join the party I was getting into.

Any idea on why this is happening and how to avoid it happening in the future?

ilvl may not be as high as the leader set it, or they are looking for specific jobs that you are not, other than that you shouldn't have a problem

Guilty of doing this. Previous party ends, all but 1 other leaves, try to join a PF without remembering to leave myself...

Same, but usually fate training with my chocobo and forgetting it's still out when I decide to join a PF....

This message can also happen if the party slot you were attempting to fill gets filled by someone else before you make the attempt yourself.

This happens a lot to me. Especially for adhoc hunt groups.

Hey all, thanks for the responses.

Unfortunately, all of the factors you've mentioned were already proven to NOT be the issue.

- My ilvl was way above what was required to join the party, and if it were not, the message would be: "You do not meet the requirements to join the party" or something to that effect.

- I was not in another party, as I was able to join OTHER PF groups.

- If the spot got filled (which is did not) it would say "This party is no longer recruiting members."

This is a mystery to me.

That message only happens at 7/8 and the last spot fills as you're trying to join (Basically, someone beats you to filling the last spot.) I know there's a seperate message if, say, they a re looking for Heals+DPS, and a Healer joins, and you try to join as a healer. Might be what you're hitting?

Another, seperate cause of it is sometimes the PT may have a chocobo summoned filling the last spot. This can prevent people from joining (And likewise, the leader will be pinged telling them to dismiss chocobo iirc.)

Those are really the only two situations I can think of.

Aside from everything already mentioned, the only reason I can think of is that someone already in the party may have a chocobo out, which takes up a slot even if it doesn't show as such in PF.
