The only thing missing from the lodestone page is information about the DX11 client...
Community reps, please say something about this.

so 5am est. I think im going to knock out early and then get up at 5 to play before work at 8. so glad they told us the time so early
Looked at the page, looks like there is a one week grace period to enter your actual expansion code since EA ends on Sat the 27th. Your character needs to be out of an expansion area if you somehow don't have it by then unless they implement some kind of teleport.

Calling it DX11 client is most likely a pretty poor wording choice. You'll download the same things as everybody else, and just have to select DX11 somewhere in the game config wills if you want to use it.
I'm working on day 1. I think that's probably a good thing. In the past any major release involved with this game has been very rocky. I truly hope they have done something like renting out additional server capacity, if anything for a temporary solution to the huge volume they will be dealing with. I don't want to be sitting here again, reading "we had more then expected players" or something. This game is exploding in popularity. So you know at least that. True you don't know an exact number. IDK if its as simple as temporarily adding server capacity for something like this. Just hoping they are prepping so it don't blow up on early access, or on launch day. I'm sure when I try to login on balmung it'll be like um sorry dude your 3000 in line. But ill be happy so long as its not the fiasco of 2.0 where you couldn't even connect or queue to login. I know the queuing was re-designed to help with this so we may be good. Here's hoping. lol Oh god just thought, "reserving instance..." for DF. God be with us. -excited
I read it, but I'd still like some official word on this rather than speculation that seem likely.Read this: http://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/commen...for_beginners/

Heh, I love how Square Enix left out EU PS4 users in this information. Some clarification is needed on whether we can download it from midnight 19th or 14 hours later during the usual store update. I'd also like to know if we still get preorder bonuses even if PSN goes down.
Doubt we'll get any more information though, SE could care less about EU customers.
I find that rather irrelevant when they have players from around the world. If they sell and make the game available to all then it certainly is more then Japan. Other places in the world do exist!JP Midnight is great for Americans! (At least, those that don't have to work or go to school.)
...not so great for JP. "Yay, my game is being updated and I can finally try out Heavensward! At least until I collapse from exhaustion after a couple hours! Woo!"
4am in America is just about perfect for prime time play in Japan, which is why they do it. Being, you know, a Japanese game, and all... Just accept it, and go to bed early the night before. :3I will be doing same thing I did during ARR launch..lol sleeping, and by time I wake up hopefully they'll fix most of the login issues hah.

Some of the online retailers are not emailing out early access codes until the 19th. I'm sure it's not going to be at 12:01 A.M. either, which means that early access is starting to look less and less early.
The last official word was that DX11 would be a separate client that would have to be downloaded and installed separately. However, since then the benchmark was released and it (at least) doesn't appear to be as separate as we were led to believe.
